i went in to last night feelin' a little burned out on wrestling and it was legit my fav episode of the year if not more.

also please don't hate me or label me contrarian but The Learning Tree segment was good to me, i am a sucker for two people giving their best to a straight face and barely pulling it off, and Bill and Jericho were both looked on the line of breaking at points. i could see this being less faction and more tag team, and Bill has gotten good enough on the mic to where if they rein it in and keep at just these two i think Bill could get very over

I’ve been so in and out of weekly AEW but wasn’t Bill with Ricky Starks? And weren’t they feuding somewhat recently? I know I’m missing something here.

I don’t have as much of a problem with Jericho as everyone else seems to but I do think he should go away for a while. Take a vacation, storm the capitol, something. That being said I think he can make at least the first month of this learning tree thing interesting. It’s so cringey but I feel like that’s the point. Kinda seems like his take as like a cult leader/Chase U type thing.

 

it seems like Ricky is looking for the door, im not expecting to see much or any of him

 

I think Jericho is at the point that he kind of needs to be a Dan Callis type. He’s fine on commentary; He’s still a good talker and can draw heat. But he needs to not be winning matches, especially over younger guys

Yeah it's....fun? It's one of those themes that GETS the crowd involved and that's always fun to take part in that energy. But I def agree, especially once the crowd starts changing CEO you lose all sense of everything else but the beat. Neat tho, I didn't realize it was her rapping!

 

I was a little worried about the Mercedes AEW rollout initially. It was feeling a little flat. But last night’s segment picked things up. Crowd kinda sucked for them tbh but Willow and Mercedes both powered thru it and gave the feud some heat.

 

AEW feels like an alternative to WWE again, gonna be a hell of a summer
