Reminder that Ken Vasoli put out another great Vacationer record last year!

 

Mesmerized is a banger of a track on Cherish.
Not as much of a Taylor bump as I expected, but still cool to see.

 

I also think the bump is due to many people talking about the band vs the band name being in a song

 

Another one - Google Search trends over the last week. That spike is roughly when Taylor's album hit streaming.

 

Several of those plays this week are me. Had no clue about whatever Taylor Swift reference, just had the opening riff to Direction pop into my head and I needed satisfaction. That album still rips.

 

I would have thought the bump would be a lot bigger

 

Massive TSL fan and high school English teacher, here; the kids don't even know that she's talking about a band in those lyrics.

 

My daughters are saying their friends all claim it's referencing the song "The Starting Line" by Keane, since they're from England and I guess Taylor has been a fan of them as well. Could be why there's not much of a bump to TSL?

 

It’s 2024, do people know Keane?

 

Both TSL and Taylor are from Pennsylvania. It's a big chance she is familiar with the band and is referencing them.

 

In England, I'm sure many do.

 

I’d think if it was the song, the lyrics would have the title in quotes.

 

Yeah I'm definitely thinking she is talking about the band and not a song title.
