Probably my 2nd favorite Hoppus lyrics as a whole on WHYSB. No they're not perfect but you could say that about any blink lyric.

I love the lyrics. They're honest, I feel like I know exactly what his feelings were at that point in his life towards Tom. It was more then anger, it was hurt.

This. Occasionally, Tom needs to be told "No, it isn't" when he thinks certain ideas are good ones.

I love WYHSB, I think it's a really well done and honest album and I think it has aged a lot better than any of the other members outside projects. I don't go back to the album as much as I should. It's a shame we never got a full up album. I do wonder if the album would have improved if Mark had a better guitarist in the band, I'm not sure how much Shane and Craig really brought to the writings/recordings. The guitar parts seem like someone Mark wrote himself.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a zip or something with decent quality of the demos with the girl that was supposed to be in the band?

I think the only demos with Carol Heller that ever leaked (or that I heard) was Cliff Diving and Make You Smile. I know the band released an earlier/demo version of No, It Isn't but I don't remember if Carol sang on that track as I haven't heard it in years. I have them on my iPod but don't have the files anymore otherwise I would hook you up, you can probably find it on YouTube though and just use a YouTube to mp3 converter program.

I seem to remember Carol singing on the end of the first version of No It Isn't. I have it burned to a disc somewhere haha.

The OG No It Isn't with Carol and no drums is one of Mark's best ever songs. It might even be my favourite. It's so angry. I love it. Also the fact he released it on Tom's birthday was, as kids might say, savage af.

Yeah, I've got that version somewhere. Her vocals are so good, and the rough mix suits it perfectly. I'll see if I can dig it up again.

I would have been way more down with +44 if it had remained Mark, Travis, and Carol. Wish I could have heard what a full album from them would have been like.

Interesting to see blink over here in June. Looks like it'll be System Of A Down, blink and Linkin Park for Download festival.

Extremely late to the party on this, but I love these re-pitched vocals someone did for Neighborhoods. They don't all work out well, unfortunately, but Ghost on the Dancefloor is a good example:

Pretty interesting that we had a discussion about +44 yesterday and today Mark posted a picture of him from the +44 era. Obviously Mark reads this thread so give us some inside info on the deluxe edition of California.

Flipping through radio this morning and one of the stations had 'Shes out of her Mind' playing behind their recap of las nights World Series game. Thought that was cool.

I think the lyrics on WYHSB are genuinely top-notch. Clearly the best in any blink related album. Mark was inspired and at the top of his game, doubt he'll ever be so consistently great again.

Yeah for whatever reason after that album Mark has stated he's been in a funk lyrically thinking he'll never be able to write anything good again, which is actually what Cynical is about.
