It's tough man...my 4 year old is growing older so fast right now, it's so exciting and also I miss my little guy lol

 

Yeah that is interesting. I can go on my phone right now and find any number of pictures of videos of baby/infant/toddler him. Maybe they'll come in handy when he's 14 and doing his best to make me forget what it was like when he was young and cute

 

To bring it full circle, he’s been watching Bluey more often/into it, so weve been running through it, and Sleepytime was just on and he was loving it. Had a huge grin on his face the whole time haha

Turns out what the wife and I thought was acne breakout on daughter’s face/nose is actually Impetigo…

didn’t figure it out until she went to doctor yesterday with what turned out to be a double infection. Doctor mentioned a spot on her nose that looked like Impetigo. Explains how I ended up with strep earlier this week and my wife a few days after

 

I have never heard of that.

A few weeks ago, my son had a rash break out onto his face pretty badly. Seemingly out of nowhere. And it kept getting worse day after day for about 4 days. We took him to his regular doctor who tested him for strep and it came back negative (he didn’t feel sick, nor was rash bothering him). They told us to use hydrocortisone. Didn’t work well so we took him to a dermatologist and they just thought it was allergies and they gave him a prescription cream, which burned his face when we put it on so we had to wash it off.

The rash went away after about 5 days but then he got sick and did end up testing positive for strep so I still have no idea if that rash was strep-related or allergy-related. He has had strep rash before but it always occurred when he had strep, not before it.

 

I got that when I wrestled in high school because one school refused to wash their mats. Ended up burning it off my cheek with a rag soaked in bleach.

I wouldn’t recommend that for a child though…

Sounds like it could be Impetigo. Our pediatrician said it’s basically strep on the skin instead of the throat. Both caused by the same bacteria

 

Our daughter got hand/foot/mouth a few weeks ago, that was a fun few days

 

2 things

1. Anyone ever been on a Disney cruise? How was it? How was it with kids? Two other couples pitched an Alaskan Disney Cruise trip next summer and I was the only one who was skeptical. Partly because cruises have never sounded appealing to me but maybe I'm missing out.

2. We've started putting our 2 year old's sleep sack on backwards and inside-out, which is annoying as all hell but she's started to wiggle out of it. We might just have to accept that it's time to move on from the crib, which is terrifying.

 

The one thing about a cruise I just can't figure out... When you put the baby down, you have to go to sleep also? You don't just leave them alone to sleep while you go out and party? Or do you use a monitor? Feels sketch

 

I would never do a cruise in general and hell no with a baby

 

Wait til they’re older so you can dump them in the kids club during the day lol

 

this was my immediate question. I'm like ok, we put the kids (there will be three of them, all ages 3-5 by that point) to sleep in their cabin at what, 8? 9 since it's vacation? Then, what? We just go to bed too?

My wife said we can switch off so the guys and girls have nights out. And I'm like if this trip is going to cost $4700 (which is what was quoted to me), EVERY night I'm going out. Might be selfish but I'm not spending near 5k to give up half of my nights on a trip lol

 

100% agree with you, PLUS swapping is no fun if you don't get to enjoy the night out with your significant other either. This is the benefit of airbnbs or the right hotels, being able to stay in other rooms and enjoy your night after they go to sleep

 

AirBNB is running a brilliant ad campaign right now specifically about this

 

I’ve been on 5 or 6 cruises with my kids… Disney by far the best especially if you have kids. As long as you don’t plan on gambling because there is no casino. But their service is second to none. Food is the best. The dining experience in the main dining is miles above any other cruise line. Would definitely recommend.

 

what do you do about the bedtime scenario we're discussing?

 

Let the kids stay up and party with them

 

We took turns. Or simply let them go to sleep later. It’s vacation so we didn’t mind throwing off the routine

 

The youngest was still 1 so we had to do nap times

 

Fuck naps

 

Tell that to their mom. It’s more for her than the kids
