They scored 3 points in the second half. I'm not putting the defensive collapse on him, but when the offense needed to move and score points, they couldn't. And a lot of that was Herbert missing throws, obviously along with other issues.

 

The Eagles offense is also built to milk the clock at Will with how dominant their offensive line and running game have been. It says a lot less about Hurts’ ability to play QB and more about Jeff Stoutland and the offensive line

 

And for what its worth I'd take Herbert over Hurts when it comes to building a team, easily

Herbert will win a wild card game one day, then lose in the divisional round and the goal posts will be moved to “Yeah but can he get past the divisional round” just like they worse for Lamar

Jalen Hurts playoff history:
2021 - 15/31, 1 TD, 2 INT in a 16 pt loss vs the Bucs (PHI scored 15 4th quarter points)

2022 - PHI blew out the Giants (Jalen threw for 154 and ran for 34 yards, 3 total TDs) in the divisional round - they blew out the 49ers in the NFC title game when SF didn't have a real QB (Jalen threw for 121 and ran for 39, only 1 TD - rushing) - Super Bowl he played out of his goddamn mind and kicked ass

2023 - lost by 23 points to the Bucs (Philly was all-time Bad Vibes team)

 

This is going to HAVE to be a deal breaker season for Herbert for the elite discourse

He has to actually stay healthy since his last 2 seasons were derailed by finger, rib, and shoulder injuries. He is getting what I presume to be a major coaching upgrade so we can't blame Staley anymore. I hope they draft MHJ or Nabers to answer that excuse too.

If he still can't make & win in the playoffs I don't know man, you're Dak Prescott tier good not a top 5 elite guy. I would also take you 100/100 times on the Patriots

 

Anyway, Herbert is good! And so is Stroud and Burrow and Stafford and Lamar and Allen and Hurts and Dak and Trevor!

Rankings are dumb. I don’t really care who is 2, 5, 8, or whatever. I just want a QB who is good. Teams can figure the rest out later

It doesn’t make me mad at all. It’s worth pointing out. So much went right for the Eagles in 2022 and not much was asked of Hurts. He had one fourth-quarter comeback against the Colts that year (he and the offense notably did not play well). Otherwise, Hurts got to coast. He barely did anything in fourth quarters that year and was even benched during them at times because of how large their leads were.

I’m thrilled that he had a great game in the super bowl that year, one play aside, but I’m past it. The team had way too much talent last year to suck as much ass as they did coming out of the bye. Hurts may have been clutch against the Bills, but he was absolutely dreadful against the Seahawks. The team got blown out in back to back weeks against the Niners and Cowboys and Hurts did nothing to make those games anywhere close to competitive. They blew a huge lead to the fucking Cardinals and shit the bed against the Bucs in the playoffs, who they pantsed earlier in the season.

People can miss me with some of the confidence in Hurts. Dude has looked mediocre/bad in this league as much as he’s looked good. I want to believe in the bounce-back, I really do, but I’m not going to sit here and say “Yeah but all the OC changes and now another one” like he is at podiums. The dude is one of the highest paid QBs in the league. Figure out how to read and counter a blitz dude!
