It’s phenomenal. Very rare I see a movie that gets an applause break because a scene was so satisfying and funny and not because of a random cameo. It’s all star power and hilarious writing

  4. Is Linklater working on another 12 year long film? Why do I remember that. Girlhood?

The Hollywood studios that wouldn’t buy this should be ashamed of themselves. I get Netflix was the one to bite so that’s why they went with them but it’s such a crowd pleaser.

If Hit Man was at festivals after Anybody But You hit, I could see Sony picking this up

Cute little flick but I definitely expected way more with the praise it had been getting. Ending felt rushed or awkward too.

Just got out of a packed showing of this. Only showing was 45 miles from me which was wild too. The entire theater was enthralled by this thing. Absolute home run here for Powell & Linklater. Probably Powell’s best film tbh and hate that it’s not being shown primarily in theaters

He is absolutely right. As a child I always wanted to experience stuff that was beyond my level. My mother took us to the library a lot and I was a little embarrassed to be seen in the kids' section but I thought the Young Adult section looked so cool. I would watch movies I shouldn't be watching and I paid attention in class when we would read something that seemed like it was for adults. I wanted to know why punk rock was controversial and was interested in politicians and issues that seemed to be on the edge. So much of that has changed over the years.
