    That's by Creed, right?

Blink is the only band I've consistently listened to since 1998, they're my favorite band so I'm very biased.

One more time is a pure nostalgia kick, that's all it is. The references to their personal tragedies, lyrics from old songs sneaking in, regretting lost time...I love it. And then the music video, chefs kiss. But it's solely because it takes me back to "simpler" times and it also makes me confront the finality of the band I love.

Outside of that context, I don't see how anyone could like that song or even the new album. It's not to make new fans, it's a farewell ballad.

    Now I'm depressed lol.

Not sure what you mean by this, since they're not breaking up...

But really, I think most bands don't write music with the intent of making new fans, or rather they shouldn't.

I would never think of this song in particular being written for fans of any kind. I would expect it was written by them for them, and they're just choosing to share it with us.

So the only hip hop I enjoy is Kendrick and j Cole. Is it safe to put them in a similar category? I don't know what that category would be I just hear a lot of similarities.

A lot of Kendrick fans wil disagree but really if you look at rap as a whole then yeah they are at least broadly in the same category

Was talking to a friend recently and we both agreed that while, I suppose, the Sex Pistols were important in terms of the overall birth of punk and legacy, that album has not aged well and it's not really worth revisiting vs the other stuff of that era that has similar stature such as The Clash, The Police, Ramones, etc.

I don't know if I agree with that, but I will say it's been sad to watch Johnny Rotten degrade himself over the last few years.

Patrick Stump's feature on Jock Powerviolence by Weekend Nachos is the best thing he's ever done, and I will die on this hill.

Edit: Didn't see the subsequent post mentioning it. Post stays.

Sorry (not sorry) to resurrect this but friend, you do not need to justify your post at all.

I once came here and said that I question the sincerity of all (yes, all) non-poc who listen to alt rock music written and/or performed by poc, specifically turnstile and bloc party.

Your post is Shakespeare compared to my shit.

I have not listened to the album and I have no stake in Taylor vs Anti Taylor but this is one of the funniest things I've read:

"But “Fortnight” unmasks itself quickly as a heady vat of pop nothingness, though it isn’t all Swift’s fault. “I was a functioning alcoholic, ‘til nobody noticed my new aesthetic,” she muses, attempting to bridge the gap between a behind-the-scenes life and on-stage performance—only for it to occur while propped up against the most dog-water, uninspired synth arrangement you could possibly imagine. Between producer Jack Antonoff’s atrocious backing instrumental and the Y2K-era, teen dramedy echo chamber of a vocal harmony provided by out-of-place guest performer Post Malone, “Fortnight” chokes on the vomit of its own opaqueness. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary,” Swift muses, and it sounds like satire. This is your songwriter of the century? Open the schools."

This person fucking went for it.
