my only knowledge of The Circle comes from this video, lol

 

i guess im being more harsh where i dont even really think Sandra Oh's character is all that great. If the show was just the russian girl, i think it would be a lot more engaging. She's amazing.


well im stuck watching it because my wife never stops watching shows even if it gets bad so lol

 

This was a great call. Absolutely loved this show. It was so weird and had so much going on, but it walked the line of non-coherent and mysterious in just the right way. It explained enough, but didn't go crazy with any kind of convoluted plot twists or explanations, and left the world as just being alien in a way that we probably wouldn't understand.

The animation was gorgeous and seemed ripped straight out of a modern graphic novel (RE Saga), the characters had some surprising depth and were voiced really well, and at the end of the day, it was just a cool, trippy watch.

I'd love a season 2 (especially with the end hinting at their being more story to tell).

 

Uh I'm pretty sure Jenna's not going anywhere, she's a producer on the show after all. Oh is Buscemi replacing that one problematic dude in the cast? Still an odd choice but I can fwi

That AI thing is a terrible look into the future

 

not the same, but i remember seeing some clip of a new Disney movie where they used AI to fill empty seats in a scene with an audience at a school event, and it reminds me a lot of this. it all looks horrible, and i just don't understand why studios think the audience won't notice? yeah, technologies like Sora AI have much more advanced generative capabilities that would make it more difficult to distinguish what's real and what's fake, but the image from the Netflix doc and the clip from the Disney film are just blatantly fake. even if you hired people to clean up any AI-generated content to make it look more natural, why don't you just invest that time and money into properly hiring extras or (in the case of the Netflix doc) working to find better reference material?

 

A24 just released new posters for Civil War made with AI. Someone brought up that everyone saying “it’s just two posters” doesn’t seem to care that “just two posters” probably could’ve fed someone for a week

 

Everyone just needs to get on board with AI. They're taking over the world soon enough.
