It took awhile but got Kirby planet robobot running on the steam deck. Didn’t know Nintendo had citra shut down so it wasn’t part of emu deck. Had to find it and figure out how to get it working within emu deck and then the game itself was choppy so had to configure that. But hey I got one working lol.

Reached Act VI in Lies of P and only just learned from watching a review that the game has a Sekiro style parry system that’s quite handy in combat… Think I’ve been making this game a lot harder than it needs to be up to now. Having a blast with it so far though.

 

Can you send me the steps you did since I haven't done 3DS yet haha

 

It’s not very forgiving like sekiro can be. I beat the game using it very very sparingly

 

Some recent games I have played:

Disco Elysium: One of the greatest games I have ever played. It has been a long time since I couldn't stop thinking about the plot of a game while I was at work or doing other things.

Fallout 4: I kept putting this one off because of how critical the New Vegas side of the series fandom is, and they were pretty much right. It was just constant dungeon crawling and shooting. It is not a bad game if that is what you want, but the thing that makes me play New Vegas over and over is how many ways you can approach things. Sometimes I would look up missions and find out solutions I never even thought of, but in Fallout 4 you have to shoot the bad guys.

Baldur's Gate: I put it on the easiest difficulty so that you cannot die in battle because I really just wanted to run through the story before inevitably getting to the newer game. I played a couple of CRPG's as a kid, mostly Age of Empires and Command and Conquer, but I just don't have the time or mental energy to learn the depths of some of these older games. I do think it is fascinating that games have gotten simpler in interface as the audience has gotten older and ostensibly more intelligent. Meanwhile, at 10 or 11 years old we would be dropped into these dense games and the booklets were as thick as dictionaries.

Titanfall 2: I have no interest in multiplayer so I played the brief campaign, and it felt so tactile and like you were really there.

Ninja Gaiden II (NES one): Could the people who made these games even beat them?

didn't know that Dave the Diver hit the PS+ subscription, looking forward to giving it a shot

 

It always feels like if you aren't playing the game that came out in the last week the conversation is past you, but I am really trying to catch up on the history of video games as much as possible. Also, it is so much cheaper. Titanfall 2 was two dollars.

 

The NES Ninja Gaiden games are so infuriating

 

I watched the first episode of the Fallout show and decided "eh, I'd rather just replay NV." So I'll be doing that once I burn myself out on Balatro

 

I'd love to replay New Vegas but my only way to play is on my PS3 and that was such a technically painful experience with all the crashes. I long for a New Vegas 2 or remake.

 

r/patientgamers is a good resource/community not based around newer games (as is this thread obviously we're almost all always playing something older). i know i know reddit but its one of those communities thats niche enough to not be horrible

NV with maxed Luck is really fun until all the casinos ban you

 

I always skill luck because it’s the most comical way to play
