I will say TWY tends to hit me at just the right time with their albums. I mean, The Hum Goes On Forever just as Milo's born/going through newborn stage/I'm learning how to dad, I listened to that album HARD during that winter lol

 

I only ever liked one wonder years album for like 2 weeks.

 

I get that, when Sister Cities came out I actually didnt listen to it much for like a yearish. That happens a lot for me.

 

I like The Wonder Years

I never became super attached to them in any way

 

Like I actually recently looked back through my messenger convos with that ex “just to see” cause I’m dumb

and whew I’m glad I’ve grown a lot since then lol. I deserved that breakup a lot more than I thought I did at the time.

 

that's ok, have been trying to get my best friend into them for like 10 years and the closest he has gotten was this most recent record but still no luck

Sister Cities took soooooo long to hit with me. Like, I only really found what I like about it last year finally, but what I like about it I like a lot.

 

Jimmy Eat World might be the most overrated band on this site besides blink honestly. I like them, they’re fine, but they just don’t click for me the way it seems they do for a lot of people on here

I mostly agree. I will say seeing them live did a LOT to make me like them more, their live show is great and made me "get it" more

 

I feel like I grew up with the Wonder Years so they are extremely special for me and I am emotionally invested in them for sure

Great live show and their albums have a very high floor which helps vs. other bands from the time that have put out some catastrophically bad music lol.

My connection with them def comes just from booking them and meeting them and them being central characters in a life path change, shifting away from Film/Video and more towards Marketing.

This year I keep revisiting the Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter record from last year, it's so dense and very love/hate but I am absolutely on the love side
