Seeing Yellowcard at Underworld last year the night before Slam Dunk is one of the best live music experiences I've ever had. Glad they're getting back over there for a proper tour.

    E. Town and Cold As Life are solid headliners. Hell of an undercard too.

Compared to Tied Down and S&F that lineup is pretty disappointing

For reference, E.Town Concrete is headlining a Tied Down pre-show here in Michigan.

I think they did a great job pleasing old heads and bringing in enough newer stuff for the kids. They could have copied and pasted every lineup but they actually made a hardcore fest?

Matt & Kim seem like an odd fit for Fest.

Superchunk isn’t one I would’ve expected either, but that pairing makes a lot more sense

Yes and no. The festival has always dabbled a bit in weirdo electronic-driven music albeit with bands that were much smaller and on the local tip but... Beyond that? Matt & Kim have a general "party" vibe that fits real nicely with the whole thing.

They've also played before. But that was like, 15+ years ago when they were opening for Against Me! so it feels like it shouldn't even count. Hah.

Superchunk also played in 2017! And honestly it's a little weird that it's taken this long for them to come back.

You know guys, if this was announced today it would do really well. Especially with all the bands that got added on in later waves. The hardcore bands would have did numbers.

^and lol like them doing an entire album when they only have 2 and it's not like one is THAT much better than the other.

I liked Candy Hearts quite a bit but haaaaaated her side project

I think “really well” is a stretch. It was never a terrible lineup— the problem was that tickets cost way more than they should have, a lot of that money would have been going to random sideshow attractions no one wanted, John D kept acting like there was arena & stadium level headliners still to be announced…

if it was $150 for the whole weekend and had no further false advertising or insane expectations it could have been a success

"You guys! Let's put a 90's Britpop band that made very little inroads in America on right before Tyler The Creator. Gen Z will LOVE it, trust me!"

I showed up to this set literally as it was starting and walked up to the very front. Don’t think the crowd even went back to the sound booth for them

Yeah, probably the best idea was for them to close the 2nd stage or a smaller one. For this being their only US shows in 9 years its dissapointing and not sure they will be back in the States any time soon
