I actually do still like Waiting too, Dying in New Brunswick and Streaks in the Sky are great

Leaving off ND on the incredible run is insane

How subway funeral/last call/dark mountain weren’t the top 3 singles and future setlist staples will always be beyond my understanding.

I heard Geoff talk about the CE era as one of the most difficult/least fun eras on the band. In regards to the general response at the time and the tours they did. Breaks my heart because every second of that album is brilliant. Though it does seem they've realized that album is well liked by lots of fans these days.

It's hard to remember exactly but I think it was the single of Resuscitation that got me into Thursday. Though I may have also known a few songs prior to that (I think I saw Cross Out the Eyes video on Fuse TV)

  5. Similar to Violent Waves with Circa. I love that record.

  6. The whole discography is excellent, even Waiting has a special place in my heart. no reason to leave it off even if they continued to get better with time.

This song is fucking perfect, wish it was followed by an album announcement, but this will do.

He has described CE as them making the record everyone wanted them to make after WATT. Not satisfying to any of them in the moment.

I always feel weird about bands hating the albums they made that I love.

I ignored this thread because I just don’t care about the current touring / anniversary shows.

got a NYT email about the new song. That’s how I found out. Haha. What a jabroni.

    it bangs. Very cool

I find it interesting that given they've only toured for the last X number of years but that they still consider Stu a touring member of the band? If you're not writing music and only touring what are the dudes at home at this point?

Streaks in the Sky remains a top 5 Thursday song for me.

Can’t stop listening to this. It’s like a perfect marriage of CE and ND

I think CE is the only record I don’t really hear in this *shrug*

Doing a discography run and I slept on Common Existence. Never really heard it because I was more into indie music at that time. That album goes hard. Excited for tonight. Hoping Geoff reads a few IG captions aloud for us. Also a bit afraid I may die in the pit.

It’s almost always because of the circumstances surrounding the albums and not the albums themselves tho

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

I feel like they rolled every era of Thursday into one song.

  21. Definitely hear lots of A City in this, something about the build up and post-rocky, wide open soundscape recalls Running From The Rain to my ears. One of my favorite songs of all time so that's quite huge praise!

So they must have been working on this one for a while because it sounded amazing live last night. Geoff said they were filing footage for a video. A decent number of people knew the words already. The bridge goes so hard. They had the signed 12 inch for $50. Pretty cool. I passed on it though.

They played a pretty standard set besides throwing in Running from the Rain (which was so good) and then ending on Turnpike Divides. Geoff still sounds so good.

Was just crazy seeing them in a 250 cap room. Most of the crowd kind of just hung back, which I guess makes sense given “our” age. I’ve got a few more years of screaming and shoving left. There were a few younger kids trying to crowd surf and stage dive. Always good to see the youth carry the torch.

Hoping that they can continue on for years to come but man my ears and legs hurt today.

I have to think part of that was just the timing. That whole scene they helped ignite had really dropped off the radar in the short time since ACBTLD (which was 06 and I would argue the peak in terms of popularity with everything from Saosin to Sufferer and the Witness to The Black Parade... Makedamnsure... several others that I won't name of course).

When we saw them in Feb there was a huge turnout for them and a substantial pit
