iirc, isn't every track on Covers on the B-sides album? or am i wrong and there's a couple extras

 

Not all of them. Ghosts is a Diamond Eyes bonus track. But I don’t recall the origin of a couple other ones (Drive, Caress, Etc)

 

Their covers of Savory and Do You Believe are incredible

 

"Savory" is kind of a pointless cover cause it's so so close to the original, but the recreation is so exact it's impressive in its own way. Anyway, everyone on chorus should blast For Your Own Special Sweetheart if they haven't already.

 

Savory's just a Far cover that Chino sang on.

 

What i didn't know about this is that this cover actually was originally from Far's Soon EP.

It's curious that Deftones then nabbed it for their B-Sides and Covers releases, when it's technically not a Deftones b-side or cover. Especially since they left other more logical stuff off.

 

I’m a huge Far fan so I’m all for any and all crossover material between the two bands

Yeah I’m tempted to make the trip for that. Still haven’t seen SOAD and it’s been almost a decade since I last saw Deftones. I’d probably have a place to crash at too…

 

this looks great. Huge Deftones and Mars Volta fan. Saw SOAD live back in 2002 and they were great live too! Sadly, Im not making the trip from across the country on the east coast.

 

DEFTONES Have Finished Recording All The Music For Upcoming Album: 'We're Really Excited'

Earlier today (Friday, April 12),DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno spoke to the KROQ radio station backstage at Coachella about the band's plans for the follow-up to 2020's "Ohms" album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET):  "We haven't really talked much [publicly] about it. We've just sort of been working on and off over the last year and a half from when we started writing to… Basically, where we're sitting right now is we have a whole record recorded all musically. And it's pretty much my job right now to finish up the vocals. And I have, obviously, this show again next week, and then straight after that, I go back home to Oregon and I go in the studio. So as long as that takes… I hate to put a definite kind of timeframe, 'cause we're not really in a rush. We want it to be great. I think that's most important. But it is coming, and, yeah, it's really good. We're really excited with what we've been working on. And everybody's jazzed."

It's very possible we get this thing this year.

It's pretty wild that TikTok -- I presume that TikTok did this -- has made their The Smiths cover so damn popular when they have about ten that are better.
