They were meant to go into studio after tour according to Frank but Doug McKean who produced their last song (+ Gerard's solo stuff / engineered their last two records) passed away in 2022 so that definitely impacted things.

There are rumors they've got studio time in Rob Cavallo's new (? rumour said he has a new studio but sources state he just improved his home one, not that it makes a difference) studio this year. He's back producing, currently doing One Ok Rock so maybe after that?

Unsure when Saviors wrapped up but I guess Rob was busy with that for most of the time since MCR finishes tour so personally think they might've waited for him.

I suppose they don't need to worry about losing momentum because they are MCR but it still feels poorly planned, even with the unfortunate passing of Doug McKean.

In less than one day I went from not really knowing or caring who Ace of Bass are to hoping they reunite and play Riot Fest

    thanks a lot, X-Men 97

That was a rough one... Lucky for them Cable is probably going to save them all with his time travel shenanigans

Well I’m adding Home Grown to my wish list now. Honestly, I would love it if they would just do a whole stage of drive-thru bands.

New Found Glory, Something Corporate, the Starting Line, Home Grown, and Allister would honestly be a pretty solid line-up for folks. An album play, two reunions, and two relatively rare "gets."

Man, I just really really want to see Allister again.

That is pretty much exactly the line up I was thinking. I’m lucky enough to have gotten to see Allister play all of Dead Ends and Girlfriends at a tiny venue (Township) 10 years ago. It was fantastic!

im not really a huge fan but in a roundabout way, i owe a lot to homegrown for my tastes in music. warped 02- i was just a wannabe skater kid who listened to some skate punk but still mostly radio/mtv and the people i was with were really excited to see Homegrown so they wanted to get to there early, and so we go into the crowd during the band that was on before ... some band id never even heard of, didnt know anything about named Finch, but they hit me in a way that changed my life forever - quickly then got into the likes of mcr, thursday, the used, thrice, from autumn to ashes, glassjaw, everytime i die and ive never looked back since! Shout out to local ska band The Vertical Richards for letting me tag along with them that day, haha

Current theory: no big 3rd headliner- just a solid overall lineup. A lot of the usual suspects plus a few reunions & surprises. Maybe in 2025 they start going top heavy again

FWIW, I don't think Banner Pilot will be doing anything in the near-term. And until they have a new album announced I don't think DH! will be doing anything big.

I would look toward the current Punk in Drublic line-ups to see who Fat Mike will want to squeeze on the bill toward the bottom. Codefendants are pretty much a lock as far as that goes (mostly just because they've done pretty much every other date in the US; and quite a few of the international ones). And I'd think Catbite, the Flatliners, Teenage Bottlerocket or Last Gang have a good shot at finding their way on there in that regard...

I think Hole is a bigger deal than St. Vincent especially if it’s their first show back in however many years, right?

the prediction hill ill die on this year (until im ultimately proven wrong by the release, haha) is NOFX playing multiple days

Would not shock me. They could do an album or two albums on one night and do another album or other stuff another night. I kind of feel like they will do two nights.

I am so excited to see the lineup in about a month. I feel like this might be a pretty good one.

I’m kind of feeling the same way about this. I could see them pulling multiple days for a few album plays

After seeing no doubt’s performance tonight at Coachella I really hope they are on riot. They played to a massive crowd

Someone on Facebook said they heard her mention Chicago. What are your thoughts? Also, I know the Facebook crowd jumps the gun a little so I’m taking it with a huge grain of salt.

I did totally feel like she said Chicago during the livestream but I assume it was just a weird thing where she was saying coachella but said her words weird

No Doubt would be cool and all but... They got $10-million for two Coachella weekends and mostly entertained it because of their relationship with Golden Voice. Riot feels like it would be a pretty steep pay cut from that.

Never say never once bands hit the stage together. That could change everything. But I'm not banking on it. Then again, they probably know that Coachella bank is about as good as it can get so they might be down... It's not like they'll get that same amount again anytime soon.

i watched a handful of coachella sets and based just on those sets, here are my wish-to-see-them rankings (riot or just in general)

would love: sublime, no doubt, Justice

would like: the adicts, deftones, Clown Core, last dinner party

seen them plenty of times but always good: aquabats, bleachers

eh, ill pass: blur, lil uzi vert, millitarie gunn*

*re: millitarie gunn - may have been an awkward setting for them? I think with something like a hardcore band on a live stream where the vocals are coming through the stream super clearly and mixed higher over the music, it exposes how not great of a singer he is, which is totally fine for a hardcore band and when it all blends in a live setting it probably rules, but the live stream put a spotlight on it and made them not sound very good

Superdrag announced a random one-off show in Chicago happening in July. So they’re out

Surprised at this one. I thought if they were to play again, Riot would’ve booked them

No Chicago date and in the area that weekend. I’d normally say they would be a lock for a side stage headliner but the tour is doing arenas and sheds. Could they actually be a main headliner?

That will probably sell out immediately? I feel like they could still play
