What an incredibly fucking arrogant thing to complain about. What is this liberal obsession of being ‘impartial’ or ‘independent’ in situations where it’s incredibly easy to see who is on the right side of history

I’m sorry but that sounds entirely made up lol

 

I mean just from my experience during this whole thing, it's been hard to follow things on social media because it's been harder to tell what is legit video and what is from other conflicts and what the story is behind the videos and etc. Having independent journalists in there that aren't openly sympathetic to Israel or Palestine would be a huge help in terms of trusting the videos provided and etc. Just being impartial or independent doesn't necessarily mean it's "both sides"ing the right or wrong of the conflict.

Yeah I dunno man. There are half a dozen people I could recommend following that have been there on the ground since it started that I think are pretty widely trusted at this point. Some have millions of followers, have since left Gaza, and are making the rounds on all sorts of media outlets. Motaz Azaiza is all over the place doing interviews, panels, etc. He's not impartial because he's lost dozens of friends and family but I feel is representing pretty authentically what is happening on the ground there. Just feels gross to say that the problem is that we don't have any 'independent western journalists' there. The info is there, and yeah, just have to be careful about not getting bamboozled by old clips, etc.

(though honestly if it's old footage from operation Protective Edge or Cast Lead or whatever I feel that's still relevant to the history of the conflict)
