Not really cheaper than a hot tub! I get that the point is “I can’t afford a real pool / can’t afford a house with a suitable yard for a real pool” but at that price I’d rather have a hot tub or just not buy it lol

Like, I wouldn’t mind taking up most or all of my backyard with a legit pool, but if I can only afford an above ground pool or that’s all my backyard can fit I’d much rather build a sick deck, a fire pit and a garden or something like that

I genuinely could not see myself ever owning a hot tub. A pool I get for a hot day trying to cool down, but who wants to just sit in warm human soup

Yes, would much rather a good patio with a smoker and a fire pit over any of the water things lol

Just move to Iowa and all those things are way more affordable. Plus you'll finally have real Mexican food.

Hot tubs are awesome when it’s cold! It can be 15 degrees outside but then your hot tub is awesome and it raises your body temperature so it’s not even cold when you get out. Have you never been to a hot springs before?

what does this mean? My friend has an above ground pool with a deck built around it. It’s like 5 feet deep and probably 25-30 feet wide. We just hang out and have some beers in it. Not trying to practice laps for the Olympics or some shit.

I grew up with an above ground pool, it was pretty large

I believe my parents didnt want to dig a whole in the ground because they knew it wouldnt get as much use after we left for college so they always planned to tear it down

    it was nice

My friend’s yard is huge and he has a giant 2 level deck with a pool and a hot tub. I have no idea what you are talking about Randall.

Eh, my parents were pretty frugal.. i grew up pretty modest

my dad grew up around water so i think its why he ok'd it.. plus it was a good way to cool down in the summer heat

I was looking and the ones that size or bigger literally cost almost as much as a regular pool so I’ll just take the regular pool at that point lol. The only cheap ones are like, for kids

Could argue a pool is a money saver depending on where you live since you're not running the A/C?

You mean growing up in Texas where enormous ass houses are STILL under $300k in its major cities?

A lot of yards aren't zoned to dig that deep, plus if you're not there for many years to come the ability to tear down the pool is a plus as well.
