It's a big white nationalist hotbed. Lots of white nationalists/supremacists/racists moving to Idaho and Montana because, you guessed it, it's mostly white people there/not a lot of minorities. Whitefish, Montana was another one IIRC

 

Also, a lot of anti-government sentiment after the Ruby Ridge incident

 

This book is fantastic for anyone uninformed about the whole ordeal.

 

I have this book coming into the library for me after watching an hour+ YouTube documentary about this story, and I think it's up next as soon as I finish my current book.
