That was super cool! Luckily someone in the office had an extra pair of glasses that they let me have so I didn't have to just stand outside and bask in the ~eclipse vibes~ as I had initially planned.

 

The temperature drop was super noticeable for me

 

They should have scheduled the eclipse on a Saturday or Sunday so I could have driven to the path of totality.

 

yeah we weren’t in totality so I assumed we wouldn’t get one but the combo of the eclipse and the cloud cover, it got noticeably colder for a few minutes

 

yeah it got chilly and dark enough for all the street lights to pop on

 

100% totality and clear sky made a huge difference. Beautiful. Although I do kind of regret repeatedly shrieking, “Oh God, why hast thou forsaken me?!” during the entire 4 min. 6 sec. of totality.

 

Dark skies was fun to watch for a few minutes with a bunch of random strangers joining together to forget about everything else for a hot second.

But anyway:

The traffic/population increase that officials hyped for months and months and months was absurdly overblown but overall this was a pretty cool day.
