Unrelated, one of my other leagues just did a boom-bap round and it was awesome. Been dying for an all-hip-hop round.

 

Big true, if we can have a round of songs that make you go “yee haw” then then we should have a round of songs that make you go “YAWK YAWK”

 

Not trying to go after anyone, but...that Beatles pick feels like such a cheat to me but I get it. It was finished by the remaining half of the band recently.

 

This Chaka Khan track is crazy. Legitimately thought someone accidentally submitted Lizzo for a minute, except it sounded way better than Lizzo lmao.

 

The highlight for me so far. But I must admit this playlist is way less of a snooze than I was expecting.

 

Yeah this is pretty solid so far.

 

this was my alternate and I wound up submitting a song I think will perform better, but I would encourage folks to give this a listen because it had a huge unexpected emotional impact on me when I first heard it.

 

my backup pick was the Billy Joel song from earlier this year, which is pretty fantastic, also worth checking out

 

Peter Gabriel song is really good. I could not get through the Shatner song, lol.

And it goes without saying, but hearing my pick in context of the playlist, I am really, really happy with it lol.

I considered it too, and I will say, I had to read the description of the category like 3 times..... if it had said released or recorded by an artist 65 or older at time or RECORDING, then it's a no. But with that verbiage, it technically fits the category.

Went a different direction anyway - but man I really do like that track, it has grown on me so much.
