  1. Heh. Fucking Windows. It looks really good on a retina screen. ;-) I'll see what I can do. I've heard this before.

I've actually noticed a lot of websites, because they're developed using a Mac, or similar, interface, look better on Mac machines than they do on Windows/Linux machines.

  3. Hah. I'll add that one now. It's not gonna be perfecccccctttt. Definitely hit me up though with ones that are missing that you notice. I'm pulling from a lot of places automatically, but the further out ones or smaller labels usually are gonna be missed. I'll get them before release day because I manually update it before posting on Friday, but yeah, definitely hit me up with them.

  4. I think they render fonts better too.

  5. I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but I miss the "swipe right to go to top" gesture. Could that be brought back? (Android L, Chrome), especially now that there's no refresh button on the buttom (which I also miss).

  6. Does Android not have a tap at the top of the screen to scroll up feature?

  7. Not that I'm aware of.

  8. A refresh button to the bottom of mobile is on my list to work on soon. It bugs me Android hasn't implemented a jump to top feature yet. So helpful. I've heard this might help?

Old and New account linking: possible to identify an old username and pair it to a new one to maintain years of use?

  10. Glad to hear about the refresh button, that'll remove like 75% of the times I want to jump to top.

As flr the Android app, it certainly might help, but I don't trust installing it (also, it requires root?), I'll just stick to scrolling for now I suppose.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but is it possible to get the news posts to automatically generate a link to the forum discussion associated with them? Given what was said about removing the comments from AP, maybe that was intentional? Just a thought. :)

  12. They're on there right now. ;-)

Oh man. I've been here two hours and already made a cock of myself! Thanks for pointing it out though. I assumed that was a post to blog link or something.... :-)

  14. Hah, not your fault at all. I literally rolled it out yesterday and it's also ... supposed to be kinda hidden. Like I didn't put the word "replies" or the number next to it totally on purpose.

I really like the change. Most people won't notice it either.

  16. Not gonna read the whole thread to see if my ideas have been posted yet, but here's a couple:

    - Quick scroll up button located at the top middle of the page (these forum pages can get long!)
    - When you open a news post on the main page it immediately opens a new tab with the news post, so you can keep the main page tab open

  17. The reasoning I had for not doing either of these two things, so far, is that this is functionality already built-in to most browsers and operating systems. Command + up arrow / down arrow can take you to the top or bottom of a page (also page up/page down), I also put links to most of the same things that are at the top of the page at the bottom (blue arrow button on far right - which can also be opened from anywhere with accesskey+j). I've never liked those 'go to top' button on sites because they feel clanky to me. It's something I may reevaluate at some point though.

And that same reasoning is why I don't open links in new tabs (beside the external link - delineated with an arrow next to it on link posts), the browser has that feature built in and then it allows each person to individually choose what to do. Right clicking a link can let you choose where it gets opened, or command + click can open the link in a new tab, shift+command+clicking will even bring that new window to the front in a new tab. Since these were browser features already, I wanted to avoid the redundancy at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback though! I take it all into consideration.

What about a trophy for a "Tate Like"? I'd imagine it's equal to a Schrute Buck. Or maybe I'm getting greedy.

I think it'd be more equal to a Stanley Nickel.

  20. Yeah, these are only minor inconveniences because the functionality is built into the browsers (like you said). I just noticed myself missing those features (especially as ap.net would automatically open the new tab).
