ERRA!!! BAYSIDE!!! Stoked to give those a listen!

Unfortunately, I'm quite disappointed in Kensrue's solo album. Despite years of fans clamoring for a Please Come Home Part II, the singles made it abundantly clear that this was going to be a thoroughly different vision of "country" music. That's all fine and good, and I'm glad I had my expectations in the right place when I jumped in, but I'm just shocked that, even in a brand new genre music, DK is managing to spin his wheels and continue singing about the same exact topics that he's been writing about on Palms and H/E, sometimes continuing to use the exact same metaphors and phrases. But my bigger issue with the album is how monochromatic it sounds, songs blending together into an old-timey mush because they were all arranged and colored with the same pastiche idea of country/western.

 

I wish Between You & Me released a full length and not an EP but oh well
