lol, that's not true. Saosin, Story of the Year, A Day to Remember, Sleeping with Sirens, and Underoath are just a few examples of bands that have frontmen who sing/scream.

Not like Chester though, which was the point.

  6. Now that Billboard is reporting the rumor, it's looking more and more likely and we must be getting closer to an announcement surely?

Have to say I feel a little bit uneasy if it's really just three OG members - unless the plan is to bring on Mr Hahn and Rob too. Considering how close the band were and how difficult it is to replace Chester is it really a "reunion" if half the band is hired guns?

On the one hand, my interest goes down a hair if it’s only half the classic line-up instead of most of them.

On the other hand. If not all the surviving members wanna do this, and the couple who don’t support the ones who do, then I don’t see a problem.

Sounds like it should be a new band at this stage from what I'm hearing.

Assuming their setlist will be 75+% of old Linkin Park songs I don’t have an issue with them using the Linkin Park name. If the guys who don’t want to be involved give their blessing, I think it’s fine. Linkin Park cover bands are drawing huge crowds. I figured they would have replaced Chester a lot sooner.

I also don’t think it’s worth reading into who’s involved yet since it’s probably 6-12 months away from being confirmed. If I had as much money as these guys, I’d sit at home and collect the royalty checks too.

If this actually happens I’ll be in the fucking pit. Don’t care who’s singing or who’s playing. Even if it’s 3 or 4 members just seeing them back on stage playing music is all I want anyways

What would the rest of their setlist be? Or are you expecting them to record new music?

I'm thinking they go full System of a Down and never record again lol

I expect they announce the new singer with a single. I think they write and release new songs with the new female singer. For the first new singer release (EP or Album), I could see up to half of it being re-records.

They will need to prove the new singer is good to their fanbase. I don’t see them just announcing a new tour without any new release to “prove” the singer. Especially if it’s someone fairly unknown.

Imo, with the way this is being described, I feel like the most likely scenario is tour playing their greatest hits, and then if the energy is right, maybe record new music.

I guess it wouldn’t be off the table to record a couple songs, like live in a studio or whatever, and put those out as a tease. But otherwise. I doubt we’d get new material in 2025.

    Things have changed.

No way they should make new music as Linkin Park.

Unless, uh, they want to (and any surviving members who opt out happily give their blessing).

I would be stunned if they ever wrote/recorded new music. I could 100% seeing them touring again though.

I don't know why people hold these things like they shouldn't make new music or do concerts or whatever. Members of bands come and go all the time. The guy himself was the kind of dude who'd give his blessing. I don't see why anyone would care. If you don't want to support them, you don't have to.

Decided to revisit the LP discography the last week or so…quick thoughts…

Minutes…this was fantastic to revisit, it was their first project that felt like a cohesive album, took some big swings here and most of them landed. Thousand Suns, again this feels like a very cohesive album, enjoyed the more electronic influence seeping in, the record has a connective tissue running through it.

Never was big into the band, but are these records looked back at as their creative apex?

Only thing I failed to connect on was One More Light, something about it felt so sterile. Like they took a bunch of genres but diluted them down to nothingness. Also, what was the reason for bringing in so many co-writers for that record when they hadn’t done that any time previously?
