A big reason why I don't think it's a problem is that Nico is a longterm piece and Dell is a potential longterm piece. Now if something changes with Nico...THEN it looks bad. But I think they'll keep him around

 

I thought it was good when he was locked up but now they traded a 2nd for what will either end up being a one year rental or something that costs them much more money in the long run.

 

They moved down 20 spots to essentially trade for a motivated Diggs in a (now) contract year

I think right now you WANT Diggs as a one year rental

@GreatBeardRecs is right that he has incentive to play as good as possible but the concerns about Diggs's decline aren't unfounded, and I think this allows the Texans to have their cake and eat it too (dumb saying but you get it)

 

A 2nd for one year of Stefan Diggs + a future 3rd is a no brainer.

 

Future 3rd being the comp pick they can still get out of him
