My thing with the Eagles at the moment is...I like a lot of the individual moves they've made this offseason: signing Barkley, Huff, and CJGJ, extending Mailata and Dickerson, keeping Sweat. I don't even have an inherent issue with trading away Reddick. There's always a risk giving large extensions to players entering their 30s and, for a team that may fire this coaching staff next offseason, maybe giving Reddick a big extension isn't exactly the best move. I just wish the compensation were better.

But what I do have an issue with is, when I zoom out for a moment and look at the roster, I have a difficult time saying that this team got better so far this offseason. The only position I can say with confidence that they improved at is RB. Granted, having Hurts, Brown, Smith, and Goedert helps at QB/WR/TE, but their depth at those positions did not improve. I think they obviously got worse at OL with the retirement of Kelce. I think they got worse at DT with Cox's retirement. While I'm optimistic about Huff, their edge rusher room did not get better replacing Reddick with him. Linebacker is still a glaring issue. Their corners that got dunked on last season are still around. Their safety depth right now is a guy recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in January and a practice squad guy.

That's not even getting into the drama stirring around the coaching staff: Is it still going to be Sirianni's scheme and Moore is just calling the plays, or is it Moore's scheme? Is Sirianni going to just become a CEO-type coach now and how does he take to that? Does the defense rebound under Fangio and will the players get along with him, or will CJGJ punch him in the mouth after the Eagles lose three in a row?

I just don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this team right now. There were justifiable reasons to fire Sirianni after last season, but they kept him around and two of his staunchest defenders retired this offseason. Are the vibes suddenly just going to get better? I don't know and, as much as I like the individual moves they've made so far, how much will they matter if they potentially fire the coaching staff next offseason?

I understand that it's still April and we still have the draft, but I am not going into the drafting thinking or hoping that any of those players make a meaningful difference for this team this year. Many players they've drafted over the last couple years still haven't made much of an impact.

Just a weird time to be a fan right now. It feels like they're trying to do both a soft reset, but also compete for a super bowl and I'm not confident that they're going to stick the landing.
