The difference is Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, and Patrick Mahomes are already developed, veteran QBs who always had an elite receiver while they were developing. I keep pointing that out, that the best receiver Trevor has thrown the ball to is still Higgins at Clemson & he hasn’t gotten to see what an offense looks like with wideouts that really know how to improvise and work together based on film study to thwart coverages. He hasn’t gotten to see what kinds of throws and reads are possible when you know your WR is gonna box that guy out and doesn’t need that extra two steps of separation.

Trevor didn’t have that in his development. Instead, he had Urban Meyer his rookie year, then we got a great coach but he refused to call the plays and let someone shitty at it do it instead, while we gave him receivers who drop great passes and shy away from contact, and a subpar line that really got exposed in his third year.

It’s clearly hurting his confidence, and he’s clearly not performing as well as the other guys lately as a result, so I’d say we are a little more desperate simply because of the timeline. If a QB doesn’t have it figured out by the end of year 4 / beginning of year 5 it’s time to worry.

and that’s not even Trevor’s fault! I do not “think of him” how you implied, I think he was an elite prospect and there’s still a potential dog in there. I think even if we keep fuckin everything up with our offense and he stays in a slump he’ll still be a “decent starter” and get a sizeable contract extension for somebody, at WORST he’s still better than Jimmy G or Derek Carr. But no plant is gonna grow to its full color and potential in nutrient poor soil.

I miss Qdoba sometimes. Most of the ones near me closed up.

 

Not as much as I miss the Baja Fresh salsa bar though.

 

Only had qdoba a few times and it wasn’t good.

 

It was kind of a bad version of Chipotle before all of the Chipotles moved into town. Now Chipotle is a bad version of Chipotle and all of the Qdobas are gone.
