this is a benefit of smaller cities, Jacksonville was the same way, I lived in a nice quiet area, suburban house, for cheap but was a literal 5-8 minute drive to get to 1) downtown for city events like Artwalk 2) Riverside where I’d go to play music and drink and eat at neat restaurants 3) Jags stadium for games.

If the attractions of that city are enough for you then it’s a no brainer. But Jax got old and felt too small cause all the cool musician and culture shit is in the same neighborhood and run by the same cliques of people. So that’s why I was like hmm maybe bigger cities with more options is the call and it was the right move for me, I’d never lived anywhere bigger than Baltimore and I went to Atlanta and had a blast.

I do wanna say most cities aren’t fully dense and loud and overwhelming like NYC or Philly or whatever though, a lot of them are pretty chill and have nice suburban areas not too far from town if you can afford it. Cost is the main barrier there, but Atlanta for example you could live in a quiet neighborhood with a yard right in town. That was the best part of Atlanta for me, east ATL is the SPOT. Seattle and Portland definitely have this dynamic too, family friendly SFH neighborhoods + quiet, isolated, nice apartment complexes very centrally located and not far out

Delco accents are unbearable (delaware county)

the stereotypical NY/Brooklyn accent that always gets made fun of in media is definitely real there are real life people that sound like that but its so few and far between these days with how diversified places like queens and brooklyn have become. the people who sound like that are mostly much older people who were born in brooklyn and will die in brooklyn.

There are people in Connecticut that say "apizza" instead of "pizza" and that's just so fucked up

If you say that on purpose let me know so I can block you

Did you know that scene was improved? The cab was suppose to run over Dustin Hoffman.

When I moved up to ct I was shocked that people said kwarter instead of corter for 25 cents but I never heard apizza

I don’t call it that but all I’m saying is it’s a real thing

    IMG_7906.jpeg

If I try it and I love it and think it’s unique then I would respect it as a hyper-local trend and hey maybe this specific family of Italian immigrants from Genoa or whatever did it differently and said it like that or whatever. But if it’s the same as other pizza I’ve had or if it’s not that good then my opinion will be like Dustin’s and I will think it’s stupid and pretentious they say apizza instead of pizza haha

It's stupid and pretentious no matter what

Idc if it's good or bad, your state is not special enough to call it something different, CT is in the bottom half of the New England states

From the looks of it it’s slightly charred / burnt Neapolitan pizza with a heavy emphasis on sauce/tomatoes and herbs rather than meat and textured vegetables. That’s a lot of pressure to put on that sauce. I do get the point of burning the dough cause Neapolitan pizza is on the soft / cold / raw side and you literally have to burn the bottom to get it crispy and the cheese toasty. I could see it tasting good even though the black is not visually appealing. But the sauce better be damn good or else this whole pizza idea is stupid
