Mine had so many kids and I was so confused

It's nice that Kong gets free healthcare and Lizzy gets to travel Europe

 

if you’re talking about the one in New Orleans, that one is cool as fuck and definitely worth checking out

 

I was. However, I've been to it three times. I went with the awful King Kong movie because it was cheaper and I could walk there from my hotel instead of a taxi to the museum.

 

This was a fun movie I guess but I think they could have done a lot better.

I feel like they couldn't decide with the characters whether they wanted them to be silly and over the top, or more serious. They kept going back and forth with that when they should have picked a direction and stuck with it.

The final battle/fight felt long and exhausting to me. Feels like they could have diversified the fighting scenes a bit but ended up just being the same thing over and over again.

best part of the movie was kong using the baby ape as a club to fuck up the other apes

 

Weekend projections in the US jumped from 55 to 75 million. In the sequel I hope they ease up on the hollow earth storyline. It’s dumb and I want the focus to be above ground

 

Another reason why Godzilla >>> Kong

 

The last half hour of this was A Lot

Every time she does sign language with the girl she still says it loud enough for most people to hear because they know most of the audience is not going to read subtitles.

 

this movie is stupid as all hell lmao

I have some thoughts but that more or less sums them all up

 

ok thinkin about it more:

- Godzilla got done so dirty in this lol. spends an hour 30min walking towards the main plot and then does very little once he gets there apart from looking fresh in pink. feel like this would play out exactly the same if it was just a Kong movie

- Mothra also did almost nothing but she's cool as fuck so it's fine

- Kong picking up the little monkey and whacking the other monkeys with him is one of the funniest things I've seen in years. lots of great sassy Kong moments in this actually

- Dan Stevens character might be even more annoying than BTH's somehow? this franchise's ability to cast phenomenally talented actors in just the worst roles is unparalleled

- on a similar note, they really found the one hairstyle that doesn't look good on Rebecca Hall

 

I watched this again today. I still think it’s more fun than GvK but fun is all it has going for it.

Great to see Mothra and the Iwi people again, but why was Mothra never mentioned on Skull Island if she is so important to the Iwi people? I’m guessing the Iwi of Skull Island had been separated from the hollow earth for a long time and simply forgot about Mothra, but it be nice to know how that significant piece of lore was no where on Skull Island.

Really hope Godzilla is not in his “evolved” form in the next film. Godzilla’s design from 2014 - 2021 is peak. There was no need to change it. It would have been better to just have his dorsal plates turn pink as he charges up.
