Trails nerds, should I do Cold Steel 2 next or Trails from Zero? Or get crazy and do both at the same time????

decided to treat myself for my birthday and picked up another fighting game- Melty Blood: Type Lumina (since it was on sale)

game is not bad! feels really good to play, more mechanics than i expected (i forgot them all 5 min after learning them)
if you can get past the anime-ness of it, it's pretty fun!

 

I'm assuming you already did cold steel 1?

 

I sure did! I know you can also do Zero before either Cold Steel games but I learned that too late

 

Returnal and AC Valhalla in the next humble bundle

 

I got the PC version of THPS4 installed on my Deck via Lutris and it runs and looks fucking incredible. This alone made the purchase worth it.

Edit: also got Tony Hawk Underground working which was a pain. I’ve never played this one before but it already seems pretty cool.

 

Well it's really up to you, you can either do Cold Steel 2 to finish up THAT part of the Cold Steel games before 3, or do the Zero/Azure duology. It's just make sure you do all those before moving to CS3. I guess it's just a matter of how much you want to see that cast next it is you wanna wait a bit.

I'm playing through CS2 right now and honestly I think they make enough references to stuff from Zero/Azure that I think it's worth playing those first, but I guess it doesn't hugely matter I suppose. But there are definitely a few moments that I'm like "yooooo that's [thing that happened in Azure] they just mentioned!!!" and I think it'd be a shame to miss those by skipping over Zero/Azure and playing CS2 first, since (at least for me), one of the big strengths of Trails is how interconnected that world is, so the whole point-at-thing-you-recognise is a big thing I enjoy.

 

Subbed. Only reason I had a GameStop sub was for this but then they went all digital. I miss getting mags in the mail!

 

Ultimately it’s up to you since they take place simultaneously, but if I were to pick I’d choose CS2, just cos that one is my favourite out of the whole cold steel saga.

 

This. For the reasons Tides and others mentioned. I can't imagine doing it any other way and getting the same satisfaction.

Probably a stupid question, but does anyone know if I have to redownload the Stellar Blade demo if I already had it? Not sure if they released a new version and I’m not home to check.
