The r&b material hits better than the faux-country tracks. Def giving Man of the Woods vibes.

Insane take, again, not a single note of this sounds like a single note of Man of the Woods.

It’s the aesthetic, nothing on here sounds like country, but I don’t think that was her goal anyway. Glad so many are enjoying but I’ll pass on this era.

I’m interested in that little bell sound effect that ends a few songs and the album

same. perhaps it fits into act iii?

I didn't notice when the tracklist image dropped, but anytime an "i" is used in a song title, it's repeated as "ii" for ACT II. Thought that was a silly but fun little detail

spun this twice (with the second time being interrupted by my neighbors loudly knocking on my door to turn it down, lmao). i think my one critique of this is that it runs a tiny bit too long. her last few albums were a bit shorter, so maybe i'm still in that frame of reference?

I like a fair amount of this, but man, it is just way, way, way too long.

truly don’t need the covers, if I was gonna cut stuff aside from the interludes that’s where I’d start

Yeah, like, the "Blackbird" cover is nice and all, but I've heard that song six million times and don't really need it taking up space here.

not sure how I'm feeling about this yet, but I'm only 10 songs in. on the "JOLENE" coverish thing, which sounds fantastic but also I mean it's a permutation on "Jolene". will have to see where it goes, but so far in the first third "PROTECTOR" was the big standouot besides the singles. "BODYGUARD" is smooth too, that'll be a top-streamed song.

I can see an intended sequencing structure that parallels Renaissance's nonstop dance mix with a tour through her hometown radio dial.

That may be true but it’s at the very least an inspired choice here. Obviously fits the themes of the record. That being said, “Blackbird” and “Jolene” being the two key covers here feel really on the nose.

I’m almost halfway through this, not quite sure how I feel about it at all. My two favorites so far are most definitely the 2 singles. I think my initial thought is it’s not pushing where I want it to, the vocal melodies are mostly in the same vein (Daughter, Protector, Bodyguard, Alligator Tears, Just for Fun). SPAGHETTI is the first time I looked up. I think I wish this was more fun?
