Some teams like the Texans get double lucky and find Dell and Collins in rounds 3 and 5 but Stroud just knows from workin with MHJ how to create chemistry. That’s amazing they found a 1300 yard WR1 + a WR2 who’s already as good as Kirk all in one fuckin draft lol.

other teams, like the Bengals, quite literally went out of their way to go get Burrow’s guy and make sure they have that established first and THEN rebuilt the rest of the team lol

 

Lol yes, it's the Texans that are hurt there, who I have as the favorite to win the division right now. Basically the scenario is the Texans struggle as a "oh they're for real" team that's targeted, the Jags struggle with no Ridley and Press Taylor remaining, and Will Levis takes the step everyone is anticipating from AR. Not a super likely outcome, but far more realistic than say the Patriots or the Broncos winning their divisions.

 

Trading for Aiyuk or Higgins on draft day counts though. That goes under Howie Roseman’s laser eyes when he went and got AJ Brown. Hurts took a leap when they did that.

Im talking about when they entered the league and started developing. Lamar had limited offensive weapon help much like Lawrence, it’s incredible Lamar can literally just do it by himself cause he’s so good at running.

Mahomes entered the league with Hill and Kelce.

Herbert entered the league with Keenan Allen still in his prime and a well above average receiving back in Ekeler.

It makes a huge difference in a guy’s confidence and his ability to communicate subtle chemistry nuances to WRs later in his career if they have a WR who can guide THEM thru those layers of meta-strategy when they’re first developing

 

Kyler, shit at least they tried. At one point Kirk was their WR3. They went out and got Hopkins and the only reason that didn’t work is cause he got suspended and then Kyler got hurt. Then they immediately moved on and got Marqise Brown instead of just letting Hopkins walk and shrugging their shoulders like we did with Ridley.

They drafted Trey McBride who is now starting to look like he’s becoming a top 15, maybe top 10 TE - that’s an even better move than signing an older Engram to larger money and hoping he’s better with us than NYG, we’re fortunate that worked and he IS a top 10 TE now cause he sure wasn’t before

Your opinions are valid. I firmly believe we should do more, philosophically, because your QB can mean playoffs for 15 years straight if you get QB right, forget about the rest of the team having other issues right now for 1 or 2 years I wanna get the 15 year part right first.

If I was owner of the Jags I’d be frustrated with Baalke right now that he’s doing everything else except the main thing I’d want to do after acquiring Trevor effin Lawrence.

Personally, if I owned a team, I'd simply tell my coach to draft the greatest QB of all time at 199. Not sure why more teams aren't following this model. Props to SF for trying it at least

Jags might have very very briefly been better than the Cowboys in like 2005-2006 before Tony Romo got really good

And in 1999 when we went 14-2 I would firmly argue we were at worst the 2nd best team in the league and just got out coached by the Titans

that’s it. That’s the only times in the Jaguars 29 year history they were better
