Couldn't tell you what they sounded like if I wanted to and have no particular interest in being able to, can't imagine I'm obviously not alone in that

I purposely skipped Spanish Love Songs (who I absolutely adore and love) on the Hot Mulligan tour last November because I didn't want to stomach sitting through HAM's set in between SLS and HM.

 

My actual response to seeing this was "who?"

 

I simply stood outside in the cold so I didn’t have to hear most of their set.

Given SLS' stance on...most things, it seemed so strange to me that they seemingly happily toured with that band. Not just on the HM run, either. They had them open for them in Europe.

I went to that HM tour. HAM sucked and the all the people who were really into them seemed like the most annoying edgelord bros in the building.

Original post barely needed to be here. 'moderately popular band has a questionable opinion about drug addiction' isn't really an accountability issue.

 

None of us are really actually holding anyone accountable but I absolutely believe we should keep tabs on bands that advocate for violence against people struggling with addiction, that's more than a questionable opinion imo

 

Especially given all the other fucked up shit that band has said before.

 

would recommend keeping an eye on basically the whole straight edge hardcore scene then, that opinion is absolutely not out of the ordinary with those people

 

Feel free to post links of anyone from that scene sharing similiar thoughts as the heart attack man dork

 

there's a reason why I don't involve myself in the hardcore scene anymore, and opinions like that are a huge reason why. sorry that I don't have any recordings from shows I attended like 15 years ago where that rhetoric was excessively common, especially among local bands in my area.

i'm not defending the stupid shit the heart attack man dumbass said by any means, it's just not an Accountability Issue. I'm sure there's a band thread that stuff could go into.
