I don’t see an issue with P4K calling this their album of the year. If people call an album their Aoty with only a month listening to it someone might say recency bias. Though they took their time and looked back on the year and SOS was still a great album

 

I’m old fashioned and think your album of the year should actually be from the year in question.

 

But last week of November counts and has no bias? Early November? October? What date is the magical cutoff for recency bias being an issue?

 

Mid November would be my personal cut off.

even though SOS was repeatedly delayed (some of it due to her process, but a good chunk of it being the label's fault), we eventually got it. starting from scratch because 3 or 4 songs leak from what's essentially a new album on its own rather than a proper deluxe is just kinda ridiculous. i would get it if the record was only partially completed, but she's been promoting this as a nearly finished product for over a year now. unless it's truly far from done, it's just kinda stupid to repeat this long cycle of waiting yet again.

 

99% sure she scrapped plenty of what was supposed to be SOS along the way

 

fair enough. just getting old at this point to do this every album cycle. announce it when it's ready and up your file security.
