Thanks for posting this, this actually did help clarify for me. I thought all tackles where they grab from behind and drop to the ground are illegal now and was wondering how anyone is gonna tackle anyone from behind. But if the distinction is “don’t land directly on their leg, pull your body weight away from the leg” then it makes sense and can still be done cleanly.

 

I cringed at a lot of those example clips shown

no way will referees always call it correctly though and it's definitely going to affect the outcome of more than 1 game this year and people will be upset

The NBA absolutely, 100%, more of a slam dunk than Giannis on the breakaway, is not thrilled with the NFL taking their biggest regular season day of the year away lol.

The NBA has spent years making Christmas Day their day, and now they're gonna get their ass blown out of the water by some week 10 matchup featuring like Sam Darnold vs. Gartner Minshew or some shit lol
