I guess she’s in a unique position where she technically does not have to do promo for the album but yeah that in turn leaves no room for buzz to build for said album.

I also wonder if people are diverting their attention elsewhere (and starting to get Taylor fatigue)? At least in the sense that for a while the big pop girls weren’t releasing anything so all people were getting (in terms of big pop music) was Taylor, Taylor and more Taylor but now we have just released albums from Olivia (I know it was last year, but with the tour just starting I’m counting it), Ariana and Kacey with Dua on the way.

So there won't be any single released ahead of this album? If so then why not just do a surprise drop?

    There wasn’t for Midnights.

First week sales being a priority now explains why the pandemic albums were true surprise drops. Capacity was lower because of lockdown restrictions and with everyone home she could take over the streaming numbers immediately. Feel a bit stupid for never having thought about it.

You also could count preorders without shipping the first week as a first week sale until just after Folklore. It’s why Evermore has like no sales and then a huge spike the week the vinyl finally shipped.

We're just assuming there won't be, but there isn't confirmation or anything

Album is up on Apple Music to pre add.

7 tracks have the “E” next to it for explicit content

    listed as pop

    If you don't, don't

Silly question but she's going to put that black pressing back up for pre-order again at some point ...right?

bare minimum, if you're gonna try to get people to buy 4 copies of the same album, at least offe a custom slipcase to house them all. i'm probably just gonna pick this up from Target on release day if i decide to buy it.

I'm sure I'll enjoy this album, but I have found the rollout to be pretty insufferable.

The album is gonna be really good and we’ll forget all about the rollout

as much as i'd like this to be the case, she's probably gonna keep implementing this rollout style as long as she can.

Gonna start posting that when the local pop punk faves drop 8-10 variants a record too

I think there’s a difference in “blue vs. green” vinyl and “you can only hear these specific songs spread out across multiple 35 dollar variants”. Bleachers should be called out for doing the same.

Yeah it's an extremely long tradition to have multiple versions with different bonus tracks to goose sales numbers, it's annoying and purely for charts

I'm also still a little irked by her announcing this on the Grammys, tbh. She didn't need to suck up even more oxygen in that room.

To quote a song that is 100 percent about her, "You have everything and you still want more."

her shtick is getting old, the whole project seems a bit try-hard and the song titles ooze a certain petulance that is unbecoming for a person with her private jet usage.

It's plain overexposure for me. I know way more about her than I ever wanted to and that was not by choice lol. It's kind of souring my view of her and the Grammy's certainly didn't help that

The weird thing is that she made it a part of her narrative how overexposed she was after the 1989 tour, and how that really fueled the backlash around her leading into Reputation. She is more overexposed now by a factor of…I don’t even know, 10? 20? 50? But she’s just steamrolling forward.

I’m just glad the promo for the Eras Movie is, seemingly, over. I feel like it’s been not stop since November. The theatrical version, the rent version, the streaming version, the good god get me off this train version.
