I really hope Mania isn't as long as it was last year. Odds are it will be, or even longer based on the brand split. In that case I think I'm going to skip the pre-show and just show up at my friends from 7 to the end. We all wanted to kill ourselves by the time the HIAC was over.

    Part of me just died.

Don't care still showing up at 7. I'll watch the beginning stuff in my bed or later that week.

And another match I already forgot, Big Show v Shaq, is basically guaranteed.

    WM33 is gonna be LONG

So, what does WWE get out of making Mania 40 hours long? More Mountain Dew Kickstart dollars by having more time with a panel table loaded with cans? Inflated viewer "totals" for the folks that can only check in earlier in the day?

They love getting everyone on the card for whatever reason. Maybe ad prices are higher because they're promoting a product for 17 hours of the day idk.

Also, I have 2 extra tickets to nxt at msg. Face value with the service charges. Dm me if interested

As bad as WM32 was as an overall show, there's two things that are pretty undeniable.

    1. It looked and felt like a major event, in the way other PPVs dont.
    2. Your favorite wrestler appeared in some form.

So, it helps them keep ratings up in the build to WM, because everyone is involved in some way.

Plus, as long as WM32 was, a few different booking decisions and it'd have been good (letting Dean actually take bumps, the Rock not appearing at all).

I don't think that makes sense. "Hey, if you lose this match, you get promoted to the main roster" doesn't jibe with a "loser leaves NXT" match.

Wrestlemania was too long last year but to me it went by fast in person, minus the whole getting in debacle.

It could be worse. I was just dragged to a country concert by my wife at AT&T stadium and the doors opened at 4 and the concert didn't end til 12:15 am or so. Luckily she had no interest in the opening acts and we showed up at 9. Still too long for me as I hate country.

I hope, for RR, that there is a legitimate indie surprise. Like, someone HUGE shows up without us being aware of it at all.

okada or omega showing up would send me unconscious in my seat.

Yeah, Omega and Bucks are really the only guys left unsigned that I could see blowing the roof off of a place.

I asked a guy at work who he'd like that to be and without a second thought he said Omega as well.

I think Okada is a pretty easy sell because people constantly talk about who is backstage, and he has consistantly been one of the guys just hanging out. Him coming out would be so fucking huge. Though, WWE fans would probably think it was Shinsuke or something.

No indie guy who hadn't passed through NXT would get a "huge pop"
AJ Styles is the exception to the rule, and a lot of that pop was due to WWE kind of promoting the fact that they'd be signing him in advance

The Young Bucks would absolutely get a pop in a hotbed city, but otherwise you're right, and it's not like a tag team could enter the Rumble as one entry anyways.

Ehh I don't know if Adam Cole is that big among the average fan but maybe I'm sheltered idk

I don't think anyone besides Young Bucks is that big but I think Cole, Omega, Lethal, Okada & Tanahashi are all on the same level

And that is a big part of why I don't think we really ever get anything like that ever again. With TNA floundering, and the WWE having more former TNA champions than TNA right now, I don't see anyone getting that pop ever again. I'm not sure WWE feels comfortable throwing a big indie in without some bit of guaranteed pop. I think we mostly get old dudes and Ellsworth. We are probably beyond the point where there are surprises at any time other than Raw after Mania. Maybe at the next draft?

It's cool tho, who doesn't love seeing JBL get up and tossed in 4 seconds every year?

Well, and not even here (aside from call-ups), as they've pretty clearly set the precedent that free agents are free-reign. Jack Swagger, Ellsworth, etc...they werent traded or re-drafted, they just signed to Smackdown.

So, I think the surprise would be Shane or Steph saying "We signed the hottest free agent" on the RAW after WM or something.

Jay Lethal could actually be a great surprise. I don't think they would relegate him to NXT. Dude has more promo time than most of the main roster.
