Yeah man I can’t imagine. Downtown Austin is a lot bigger than it looks on a map, I’ve discovered. It looks like you could simply walk to Zilker Park from downtown but… no lmao that’s a hike (or a bike ride). And extremely hilly and hot. And poor mass transit.

Seattle has decent transit, their bus system is excellent and I think they expanded Soundlink since I visited. But the problem is it’s made up of several narrow, mountainous peninsulas so they can’t just put a grid of several highways through it. They were only able to construct one or two ways to get across each of the waterways and onto the land. Everyone going anywhere near downtown from north/south has to bottleneck onto I-5 (there used to be another route, the Alaskan way viaduct, but they demolished it) and everyone going to the east side of the bay has to take the same bridge past Mercer Island (which is also a lot of traffic from Microsoft / Boeing etc commuters).

I loved Seattle and I would’ve moved there earlier in my 20s but by the time I had the balls to do something like that, it leaped up in price and was impossible. For me, trying to live in like Redmond or Federal Way or something instead of actual Seattle, and having to sit in that long of a drive to get to the art and music scene that I moved there for, would not be the same to me. Northeast is better in terms of living outside a city to save money but still having easy access.

 

Hope to enjoy my week in Seattle.

 

I moved to Portland in 2015 because I visited Seattle in 2014 and living in Seattle proper was still too expensive for me even back then lol

But the few weeks of Summer being in the 70's is p cool then then the rest of summer is shite from late July on

 

Seattle rocks. Would definitely live there.

That happens what, Labor Day weekend? That was some of the most perfect weather I’ve ever been in. Air just cool enough to not be hot, sun just hot enough to not be chilly, & it was blue skies all weekend.

 

Also Ultraviolet by the Menzingers is still top-tier 2024 song release for me

 

I do look at Seattle and think “hmm maybe one day…” but that’s also like 15 other cities lol. I’m good where I’m at cause it’s cool to have like 5-6 cities I can easily get to if I want a different vibe

Panthers are having a weird offseason.

I love the two OL signings.
Diontae trade was great considering the price and what he brings specifically.
Wonnum looks like a solid pickup.
A lot of talk that Clowney will happen.

The Burns trade is obviously a bad look. But they failed with that situation as soon as they turned down the Rams offer. The deal with the Giants is damage control. He’ll likely have a great career for NYG but I think that same contract in Carolina ends up being dumped down the road. We just aren’t in a spot to overpay to that extent.

It will all continue to suck if we can’t draft. That’s the biggest issue for the franchise and it isn’t close. Fitterer had 3 drafts and completely failed at all 3. It’s impossible to be a good team when you go that long without hitting on a single draft pick.

Dan Morgan has done a decent job so far. The OL is what needed to be addressed most and he was very aggressive in doing that. He also found a a WR without giving up a pick. Hopefully he can draft.
