It's okay to acknowledge someone is ascending without hotshotting them to "they're the best" when there's a dude in the conference who has put up better numbers, better performances for a significantly longer time.

We had also just lost Justin Blackmon to drug suspensions. We were desperate to have some offense. We did take two talented receivers in round two and I still believe Marqise Lee got derailed by injuries and could’ve been a good WR2. We might still HAVE Allen Robinson if he didn’t tear his ACL but… he ran a 4.6, he was always one big injury away from being too slow to get open

 

I think I am just working within the context of the weapons guys like Dak and Purdy have versus what Jordan Love had last season. I think if Jordan Love had an offensive line like Dak's and a WR 1 like Lamb or a RB like CMC then he'd put up even more bonkers numbers.

I'd just like to see what Dak or Purdy would do with RB like AJ Dillon and rookie WRs that consistently made wrong route choices in the first half of the season. I know every team deals with it but Love went the entire season basically without his #1 LT #1 WR and #1 RB

2012-2013 Jaguars is one of the worst rosters I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching. I’m surprised they won any games.

 

With Purdy I get it, we've seen other QBs try to run the 49ers offense and not be able to do what Purdy did last season

With Dak though we DID see Cooper Rush come in and look perfectly fine with basically this current offense (if not a better version)

 

Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson were so good in college

 

We also traded top 10 left tackle Eugene Monroe to the Ravens for like a fifth round pick and then drafted bust ass Luke Joeckel who was a bottom 3 tackle in the league for a few years and then was out of the league by year 6

I think Brock Purdy is good for sure - if the Niners really do trade Deebo and Ayiuk tho it'll be really interesting

I pretty much think he's Romo/Rivers and whatever things people say about Romo/Rivers as a NFL QB translate over pretty well, the parallels between Dak and Romo are kinda spooky

 

Jimmy G sucks and literally did almost the exact same thing and that was before Aiyuk and Deb really coming into their own lol

To me, the drop-off from Dak to Cooper was worse, and also it's important to acknowledge Cooper Rush played like 5 games so there was far less time for his warts to show lol

 

And again, just to be clear because sometimes I come off the wrong way. I am definitively not saying Brock Purdy or Jordan Love are bad or not good. All I'm saying is give me the sustained success (Brock's pretty close to sustained at this point) over the guy who got super hot for 8 weeks.

2019 was the BIG outlier haha I don't think including that is fair given Purdy was probably in AP English 4 at that time

 

Problem is you have to include it cuz Jimmy G had no other seasons with as many games as Purdy in the SF offense
