I've probably posted it before, but the worst auditory hallucination I ever got was when I lived with my dad. My room was in the basement which my sisters had also lived in at points and thought it was haunted. I am not as ghost believing. But they felt that way cause it was kind of a creepy basement. Anyway, I was napping and was in that state of sleep where I was out of REM cycle and kinda waking up but still asleep, which is when I always get sleep paralysis. Suddenly I heard a very desperate loud "Kiana!" Shouted right in my ear, like someone was urgently trying to wake me up. I was home alone tho. It was so loud in my brain that I startled awake. I don't get auditory hallucinations often at all so it always stands out and was creepier than any visual sleep paralysis I've had.

  2. Haven’t had a bout of sleep paralysis in a good lil bit, but I did have one of those falling dreams recently where I abruptly woke up and jerked my neck back so hard that I couldn’t really turn my head for like three days. An existential type of spooky lol

My roommate said he’s had it a few times with a very creepy girl showing up but “we’ve come to an understanding and we’re cool”

Oh my yes, hearing someone say my name has happened and that scares the shit out of my wife too. I’ll snap out of it and sit up straight like, “did you say my name?” and she’ll be like “oh please not this again.” She jokes around that our house probably isn’t haunted but I might be. I’ve heard that you hear strange audio sounds during sleep paralysis due to blood pumping through vessels in your head which creates pressure in your ears. Maybe the brain is trying to make sense of the noise so it forms your name if not whole words sometimes? I don’t know, but it’s weird as hell.

I have auditory hallucinations sometimes. The talking is indistinct. Sometimes I feel like I hear sounds but don’t know if it’s my cat making noise by playing with something.

I guess I've had "auditory hallucinations" while sleeping before but I always just call it "dreaming" haha. Like just last night, towards the end of sleep where I was tossing and turning in a light sleep trying to stay asleep, and I heard the very loud, distinct sound of my front door knob turning, or more accurately the sound it makes when we turn it and let go. Startled me briefly awake, made me consider for a second if I heard it, then realized it was way too loud to be real, cause it sounded like I was right next to it and not in a bedroom with a door closed and a fan going lol. Pretty sure I was just falling into a dream state from my light sleep where I was fighting waking up to see if our school was closed or not, if my wife was already leaving to drop our son off, etc.

One time when I was waking from being put under for a procedure I heard a Minus the Bear song blaring super loud in my ears through headphones, so I ripped them off my head. Turned out there was no music, I had just hallucinated it and ripped out the oxygen tubes in my nose.

That number 1 reminds me of a time when I was a senior in high school and me and my friend were on the baseball team and we didn't play much and we were sitting on the bench and at the same exact time started to sing "Ready or Not" by The Fugees at the very same exact time out loud.

Mind you, this song at the time was 7 years old and there was no rhyme or reason as to why either one of us thought of it, or started signing it at the same time.

21 years later, we still talk about that moment all the time. So weird and random and eerie.

This happened to me and my wife the other day, a song was on in the background of something and we both started singing it at the same time a little bit later.

I'll also start thinking of a song if a common phrase pops up, like someone in the distance at a baseball game saying "ready or not".

  20. Yeah, major major TW for that article because it pretty much runs the gamut on every awful thing you can imagine. I've been taking a break from the news because my brain is bad but that one caught my attention because our niece and nephew play Minecraft and Roblox. That piece made my blood absolutely boil.

A lot of small oddities and curiosities in that story.

    - video shows his stumbling and falling down (did he trip? Are they giving the impression he was drunk?)

    - but he only (allegedly) bought 1 drink and 2 waters (why 2 waters? A water for him and someone else?)

    - he’s fucking 6’ 5” so he’s not gonna blend in like most on the street, that’s huge height. And if he only had 1 drink likely wasn’t drunk unless he was drinking beforehand or drank other drinks that others bought (or drank it fast or was really strong, but a lot of hypotheticals there for someone of that size)

    - why did he and he alone get kicked out? Article never even touches on that. Literally every single person he was with was fine to stay so only he gets forced to leave and none of these friends leave with him? They’re presumably in a city they’ve never been in before or are at least not super familiar with.

I mean could have easily pregramed beforehand. And I've definitely seen people get kicked out of clubs before if they seemed intoxicated or were stumbling. Kind of shitty friends to not leave with him though. At this point I'd expect the worst
