Fairly certain this is right because BFIAFL was tracked live as full band for almost all of it IIRC.

  2. got the target edition and here is my bonus track report — “I Am In Your Hands” is another brooding song like a few of the others on the record. “Backwards Heart” is a little more jovial, with an acoustic guitar at the center. “Question Mark” is another little kind a low key quirky steady beat song like “Jesus is Dead.” “Big Bad Turnpike Ghost” strips all of the energy from the original, kind of sounds like a little demo honestly. would have rather seen the chaos of that one bolstered by his modern production chops but oh well. first three are pretty good but i’m not clamoring for any of these to be on the proper album or anything

Thinking of going to the MSG show. Haven’t seen them yet and feel like that’s probably going to a hell of a show.

Is "Margo" a bonus track? My LP has four bonus tracks but that's not one of them.

This has really grown on me with every listen. WAGTKEOF's "You changed the way we move" part is stirringly beautiful and surprisingly emotional.

  7. Never been a huge Bleachers guy, I’ve really liked maybe half of each record I’ve heard and am pretty sure I never checked the last one out at all. But this is very enjoyable so far

  8. I think it (naturally) took him a few projects to dial it in so well, but he’s really mastered this very “cozy” style of production. Both this and that 1975 record sound so organic and inviting

It’s ok, still doesn’t touch the first two records. Theres a noticeable lack of energy in this record but it does sound quite good. Not a fan of The 1975’s sound so a little disappointed to hear some similarity.

Really hope the live sets don’t go too hard on the ballad/mid tempo songs from this record.

yea I'm kinda on the fence on if the songs are totally there. but this sounds so good and pleasant I like it a lot either way.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

this feels like the perfection of the warm, analog sound he's been attempting for the last few records

helps that so many of the songs feel like hugs

really like this, and wasn't expecting to

Yeah where exactly can I hear Margo? I believe that’s the song that was played at the encore of the Gone Now album show a couple years ago and I’m dying to hear it again.

I didn't really like TTSOOSN aside from the singles.

I think this may have quickly become my favourite Bleachers record though. The run from 'Me Before You' > 'Tiny Moves' is absolutely unreal.

I tried listening to 'Alma Mater' a few times when it was released as a single and I did not care for it at all. Honestly, I felt like I actively disliked it pretty strongly. Now it is absolutely one of my favorites on the album haha I love it.

The last three songs all could have been closers. Probably my favorite run on the album. I’m obsessed with this album. Just realized I’m not free the day of the MSG show. Major bummer

i genuinely don't know how to feel about this album. i don't hate it, and there are lots of elements i REALLY like, but some of the production just feels... hollow? and maybe a bit scatterbrained? imo, Jack's production works best when it's rooted primarily in one sonic pallette, with occasional influences from other genres. on this album, i feel like a lot of that isn't as ironed out as some of his earlier Bleachers work or even his work with other artists. for a good number of songs on this record, it feels like many different instruments all clamoring for a voice without many of them concretely sticking. and when it's quieter and that's not happening as much, the songs feel somewhat forgettable. i'm all for experimentation and drawing from tons of influences, and i'm not suggesting he make another Strange Desire or Gone Now, but this isn't hitting as hard as i thought it would upon my first several listens. gonna need some more spins to make a final determination. would love to hear the bonus tracks as well, but i'm not sure i want to shell out $72 to do so.
