So you can't upgrade the storage on the new 13-inch MacBook Pro?

Edit: Never mind. Looks like on the third tier of the 13-inches you can.

Wasn't sure if the touch bar was going to do anything for me, but after watching those demos I think there's a lot of potential there. Still, I can't help but be a little annoyed at the fact that I can't get a 13" unit with a discrete GPU because of Apple's obsession with making everything smaller. Oh well. I bought a new Macbook last year, so it's not like I was going to upgrade at this point anyway.

hopefully touch keyboards are released soon since i'm still happy with my mac but would be cool to have those with a desktop setup

I'd love to pick up a new 15" Macbook Pro, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to look into selling at kidney at this point...

Same. I'm pretty anti laptop since getting my iMac. Kind of lame the desktop is dead.

  6. I'm not in the market for a Macbook upgrade at this point, but these look really cool. Lots of potential in the Touchbar, which hopefully comes to the standalone keyboards at some point, since I'd love to use one of those with an iMac a few years down the line.

I will probably end up getting one. The internal updates are much needed and the 15 inch pro supports up to 4 external 4k displays now, the artificial two display limitation on the old pros has always been a pain point for me so that in itself is worth it even if there are some disappointments (keyboard potentially, skylake instead of kaby lake, $400 price bump for the entry model)

Also, sorry to anyone who was waiting to buy a 2015 pro on my recommendation. 15 inch models haven't come down in price at all.

  11. Hey, don't you wanna hear Marco have something to complain about all-the-time for another 6 months!?

  12. I hope they spec bump the iMac and Mac Mini later today. They should.

No 5k cinema display is a legit bummer.

Not in the market for a new laptop, but they look nice.

The new TV guide app is pretty much worthless to me without Netflix or Amazon, the two places I watch stuff more than any other besides Plex, but I really want single sign-on still.

Is there a good description of the tv app? My wife and I use my parents direct tv password to stream a bunch of current stuff and it would be nice to not have to switch through a ton of channel apps.

  15. Gotta admit, Touch Bar (is the worst name ever) looks really cool.

  16. My MacBook Air is four years old and running pretty smoothly (except for a slight intermittent flickering on the display, but not bad enough to worry about it). I was going to buy a 5K iMac for my bedroom and just use my Air for everything portable, but seeing those new MacBook Pros... DAMN. They are sexy.

I've been waiting to see this to decide if I should get one or the 2015 version, and while the touch bar looks really cool, not sure it's worth the massive price jump. For some things, having to reach over the keyboard to select a tiny sliver of touch bar sounds really cumbersome when you're already using the trackpad.

Dumping the iGPU only option for the 15 inch and making the base model $2400 is really frustrating, that's probably the model I would have gotten.

  22. Yup

I really do love all the new stuff on the pros but the pricing sucks

I love my 2015 rMBP so I wasn't in the market to update anyways but I'm getting a new iMac next year so I'm excited to see the touch bar added to that

Really happy my MacBook Pro from 2012 is still going strong. I really dislike that Lightning headphones are now exclusively for iPhones. If you're going to remove the headphone jack from one product, have the courage to remove it from your other products as well.

There is absolutely no reason to remove the headphone jack from the Mac

Wish my 2011 MBP would have waited another year to shit out. Only had my rMBP for a little over a year now, hard to justify even thinking about these new ones...doesn't mean I won't..lol
