If they have any recorded material with Anthony - they should just release it as an EP to tide us over til the new record with Cove comes out in probably 2026 /js

 

Call me a hater but I would say the last album is everything they recorded with him. It felt like that record was already stretched.

If you follow the stuff Beau says first and second hand, it tends to be quite clear Anthony is super hard to pin down and getting him to do anything takes ages. It doesn’t seem like a remotely collaborative process.

ISOSG just seemed generic Anthony Green to me and a bunch of random instrumentals that Beau cherry picked. There is absolutely zero on that record that I remember - I own it vinyl, I saw a bunch of it live twice, I’ve listened to it plenty. It’s just.. forgettable. I can do without another record like that.

 

I actually agree unfortunately, The Silver String is a banger though.

I'm fine with Cove being the singer. If Anthony gets to work with Circa again then it's even better.

 

There's a whole lot of Circa being mentioned for some reason. Circa is definitely dead for a while, it's Dunes right now

 

I’m assuming you’re talking about Along The Shadow but yeah - it’s about half killer half filler for me.

The Silver String, Ideology, Red Light, Count Back, and the two final tracks are all solid but the rest are skipped almost every time.

I do love Anthony Green but I’m way more stoked for a record with Cove (but I do think they have recorded material with AG they’re sitting on).

 

Agreed - no way Circa is coming back anytime soon if ever.

I’m more interested in what’s going on with MCR anyways. They released that single two years ago and nothing since right? Would make sense if Frank is putting his attention to Dunes anyways.

 

Second Guesses is the best song on Along The Shadow. Its basically Mookies Last Christmas evolved with a better chorus.

 

Nothing from dead American has worked for me. So I’m not hot on a cove led record. it’s been 20 years since I’ve like what he has done. Lol.

ISOSG is the record most people hate but I love. I'm keeping quiet on that.

 

Speaking of Cove, his other project Le Tired put out a new song today.

 

None of the Cove projects since ISOSG have done much for me. But AG's latest Saosin album was also just... fine. I rarely ever revisit it. I'm down for hearing what a Cove/Saosin album sounds like in 2024.

 

In Search of Solid Ground is a good album.

 

There are dozens of us.

Also, ATS is a killer album, particularly with the "extra tracks". Probably my favorite Saosin record. Didn't know the response was so mixed around here!

 

ATS is super rad. Can’t believe it’s like 8 years old already.

 

It’s now been an even longer wait for another Saosin record than the prior wait post-ISOSG..

How sad is that? lol

Will be curious too listen to that, the show was only like 10 min from me but I didn't really want to see Cove so I skipped it. The set list was weird as hell, so many cover songs, but weird enough that I'll check out the recorded album

 

Beau said something about an Anthony guest spot on the next album being on his wish list, so there's definitely no definitive answer with these guys! But it's all exciting anyway.
