There was a st pats for all day parade on my block. Was founded cause back then LGBTQ wasn’t allowed. Now it’s a big progressive event where I see AOC walk outside my window. Had some speakers there, some from Ireland and some local politicians. It was fine I guess given it is a DNC event but they did mention the connection between Palestine and Ireland, colonialism and a ceasefire. There were several orgs there marching for a ceasefire one of the CPUSA lmfaoo, DSA, and some anti-war left wing vets. Then some guy in a “lets go Brandon” shirt yelled something about Hamas at the DSA

this really feels like people arguing around each other's points - one side is saying that choosing not to vote for Biden is not the best way to scooch the Democratic party left a smidge and may not be the conventional politically smart move here, and the other side is simply saying that being asked to tolerate genocide is not acceptable to them full stop period absolutely no qualifiers or discussion beyond that point

this is sorta why I asked David yesterday 'strategy for what?' when he pointed out that not voting for Biden is a terrible strategy

I just wish literally any of the people out there who talk “pushing Democrats to the left once they’re in office” could articulate what that “pushing” is allowed to look like. ‘Cause from what I’ve seen, even that movement of voting uncommitted in the primary is a bad, pro-Trump strategy, I guess?

The most I’ve seen is, idk, write and call your elected politicians… but I did that early on with that Fetterman motherfucker and got a canned pro-Israel response. And we’ve all seen how that’s continued to go with him. What else am I supposed to use, “thoughts & prayers”?
