HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT NEW SHERLOCK?!

It comes out THIS WEEK.

 

Let me know how it is. I won't be able to get to it anytime soon but I'm definitely curious

 

Played some more XCOM 2 last night and man the game can be so damn difficult sometimes. I'm loving the different levels and how battles play out, but having an extra timer element to it can get reeeeally annoying sometimes.

 

I will wait as well. Told myself no more new games until I make significant progress on backlog haha. After Doom, Homefront and Dead Rising, I'll probably grab a few of the ones that have dropped recently.


Also, side note: Found out Steven Hall (writer of Ryse and the novel Raw Shark Texts) wrote Battlefield 1. Makes me VERY interested in the game now..

 

The story in Ryse was ok, but nothing amazing. If anything, it was very short. One thing I have learned about the Battlefield games is that the stories are not the greatest either. Despite that, BF1 definitely seems like it has the potential to be a very good game.

 

I loved Ryse's story and Raw Shark Texts is one of my favorite novels. Stoked.

 

It's ridiculous, but the simple solution is for everyone to stop preordering. I can't even fathom the concept of why someone would preorder anymore, especially if it's from somewhere that charges you before release day.

I've never played a game where the preorder bonus was worth preordering for.

If everyone were to suddenly stop doing it, I'm sure Bethesda would do a very fast 180 on this. The precedent is set for other devs and publishers now too.

Gamers have created and allowed this mess to happen.

 

the prologue for battlefield 1 was insane.

battlefield 1 looks awesome but when you get close to textures sometimes it's like wtf. I've got it ultra'd.

We've just kinda got a long way to go with graphics. I'm reminded of that every time I play a new triple a game

 

Telltale Batman is so good. That twist at the end of episode 3.

 

I've now moved up to around 70 ego in Super Mega Baseball and it feels like it got easier.

I've been dominating it at the pitching though. My star pitcher has all the ERA, WHIP and strikeouts leader.

My top guy is at 120 strikeouts while the league second best is at 97.

 

The first one had some pretty crazy difficulty spikes I remeber. So it doesn't surprise me. Loved the first, and since I'm swimming in games right now idk when I'll get to it. Soon as it goes on sale I'll pick it up. How are the new classes?

 

Bioshock is the rare game where I really want to know more about the mythology of the setting but do not want to read ahead. I have heard vague things about where the story goes, but what is more interesting is the morality of the protagonist in what I have played so far. While some of the citizens did shoot first, I am an invader in their land, so it feels like I am the villain.

 

Are you talking about the actual first XCOM or the reboot of the first one? The new classes are fun but you must have a ranger on your missions for the first part of the game because he does so much melee damage to a Sectoid. I was doing a mission with 4 squaddies and they got obliterated by the Sectoid who was mind controlling one of our people. Turns a 4v4 into a 5v3 nightmare. Sectoid normally goes down with just one melee slash though, if not one melee slash and one normal shot should do the trick.

 

It's one game that I wish I could go back to 2007 and play for the first time again.

I'm wanting a new game to play on my PS4. I can only afford one game this month, I'm thinking I should pick up either rise of the tomb raider or mafia 3. What do you lot think is the better game?

 

Everything I've heard is Mafia 3 is a solid 6. Great story, LOTS of issues.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is fantastic.

 

I haven't played Mafia 3, but I do know that Rise of the Tomb Raider is incredible.

 

Cheers, that sounds like a good reason to go for tomb raider. I'd heard mafia 3 had a few issues but I have a feeling I'd love a game set in New Orleans. As Tomb raider originally came out a year ago I couldn't remember what sort of reception it got in here.
