the 6 man tag was pretty dope but for some reason ftr and bcc are just not clicking for me. it feels like their chemistry is off i cant really explain it. hoping their ppv match is dope. no doubts about dragon and eddie, that's that real music family

 

I've felt this way, too, and I love both teams in the ring. For me, I think it comes back to BCC just constantly flip-flopping between face and heel. I get that they're, in the truest sense, "tweeners", but to me, that's an argument for why that kind of thing just doesn't really work in wrestling. I just think it's hard for people to get invested in their programs.

It's one thing to lean a certain way in a particular match because circumstances call for it, but they just do it flippantly from match to match.

 

i regularly think about how they just stopped mid shatter machine like a video game when the clock hit 20 last week and Cash just fell on his ass with a huh face for a sec lol

 

that was a nice touch

 

not trying to make it a comp just comes across weird when the same person has mentioned they cant enjoy something bc of darby mutiple times in a day or two but also seems to post so positively about wwe

 

thinking about it though, BCC & FTR are all dudes who have proven they'll work w people they don't like just fine, and were very publicly on two diff sides of the Punk situation. im not saying there's active heat but they may be a little less ra ra about dying for each other on Dynamite than most matchups lol

 

fwiw there was a report years ago after it came out that he showed tony khan dms and other proof and was cleared. this was around the same time jimmy havoc was fired and sammy had to go through certain things to be let back into aew for far less. nobody actually knows what happened so wont speculate but it wasnt something that was never addressed either

I'm aware of all of this. Sorry, but I'm not going to take "Tony Khan said it was okay" as proof that nothing happened. Tony Khan also hired Jay Lethal and Ric Flair. Darby also detailed, in his own words, exploiting and abusing other homeless people while on Jericho's podcast. Even if you want to accept Tony's clean bill on the speaking out allegations, Darby has laid out the kind of dude he is plainly.

For the record, until this discussion, I've mentioned Darby Allin negatively exactly twice, ever - this week. And he just so happens to be main eventing a Pay-Per-View on Sunday. I'll stop engaging now, because this all just feels entirely in bad faith.

I saw someone on Twitter earlier say they'd like to see the email chain of employees discussing character names for black wrestlers and I got a good laugh out of imagining it reaching PR and them just letting out a big sigh.

 

Yup, I thought the same of their match last week. Clunky spots but the match ended up pretty good. Last night’s match was a bit of a slog for me.

I've enjoyed the matches, but the BCC feud just makes me miss heel FTR. Their babyface run kind of follows the same formula where they get beat down, cheated out of wins & win the payoff match. This one's a little better because the two just want to beat the shit out of eachother with no personal story or anything clogging it up. The House of Black feud was so forced with that.

 

BCC feels kinda lost to me. I don’t know what they’re suppose to be exactly. Like, sometimes they’re a thing. Then we go awhile without mentioning their name as a group. Then they’re back in a feud together. They’ll always put on a great match though.

 

By the way, this is like a couple of days late, but I remember people talking about t-shirts and PWT the other day.

I rarely buy wrestling shirts, but I ordered a few AEW ones from there a few years back, namely the House of Black one with Malakai's face on the back. I got the premium version. It was printed on Next Level, is comfortable as hell and I loved it. I also laughed every time I put it on because at a show one time, a girl asked me if it was George R.R. Martin.

Anyway, I got a stain on it somehow. Didn't notice until after the wash. Tried real hard to get it out, couldn't. So, I ordered another one during a BF sale last year, same shirt, same everything. It was still printed on Next Level but it genuinely fit like an entirely foreign product. It's nothing like my original at all. I'm still bummed about it.
