same thought today! it's slowly falling in at number 2 for me!?

"Try" and "Come on Heartache" offer such a great blend of their entire catalog. I'm glad they were singles cause the tracks feel huge and have such staying power!

I think my journey to finally loving all of 'Hello Exile' is complete

At first, only a few songs on it really clicked with me. Then when they did "From Exile" I found that those unplugged versions were my preferred way of listening to most of the album (besides America). But I just threw it on again yesterday and can't stop listening

I like every song on Hello Exile except America... but nothing from the album would make my top 10 Menzingers songs, probably not top 15 either.

I had no idea there were people that don’t like America? Holy cow I love that song

Strangers Forever and Strain Your Memory are incredible. I wouldn’t be surprised if one (or both) of them was in my top 10-15 Menzingers songs.

Strain Your Memory is definitely a top 15 for me. Anna likely also

I just find it lacks energy on record. Wish it was faster.

Really enjoying this album. Wasn't familiar with them until I saw they were playing some decent sized venues in the UK. Love the emotional punky, semi-heartland rock vibe of the likes of Come On Heartache and Hope....

But reading some comments in this thread, is this album quite different from their earlier material?

I wouldn't say so. Everything before On The Impossible Past feels more raw and punk-y, but from then on they're pretty consistent with their output.

I feel like Hello Exile and their latest compliment each other really well. Lots of Petty influences on the new album.

Hello Exile became my favorite. It has the perfect mix of everything they’ve done. Plus, I have a strong connection to it.

I really like this new own as it seems like a natural progression for the band. They seemed super focused and they delivered. I’m excited to grow with it.

However, I do prefer Rented World and After the Party over it.

Nah, the lyrics are just a little more general instead of specific stories. I think that is the shift that reviews mentioned. Musically and melodocally it is still in their wheel house.

Need them to come back to South Australia and would love if Lucero tagged along. Haven't seen those guys since the 1372 era. (That's still their best album btw)

Bought my Orlando tickets. Just realized I have a weird history of seeing Lucero. The first time I saw them they were direct support for Social D and Frank Turner was the opener. Then years later they were direct support for Frank Turner and Menzingers opened. Now I’m seeing them as direct support for Menzingers. So by that logic, Lucero should be direct support for Dirty Nil sometime in the next 5-7 years.

The only time I was able to see Lucero in Adelaide was at Soundwave Festival. I had to leave early from The Lawrence Arms to head across for the start of Lucero's set. They were directly followed by The Wonder Years.

That night the headlines were Slayer, A Perfect Circle, Linkin Park, Metallica on main stage. On stage 2 was Sum 41, Paramore, Blink 182 and The Offspring.

Absolutely stacked line up! And Lucero were definitely correct when during the set they said "this is the only piano ballad you're gonna hear today" before playing Darken My Door haha
