This is really cool. I've been a pretty passive fan for a while. Caught the end hype of the Vessel era, bought Blurryface, and then Trench kinda fell flat for me. Scaled and Icy was just "there" for me and didn't have much sticking power.

However, after discovering the lore and meaning behind a lot of this stuff, I have a newfound appreciation for the cleverness of this band and how creative they truly are. Can't decide if I want to fully dive into all the lore stuff, but it's pretty cool that it all "connects".

 

I’m very happy they made this video. I’ve watched a ton of YouTube explanations of their lore, and hearing it from the horse’s mouth is (of course) the best explanation I’ve heard. Excited for the new album and what sounds like the conclusion of this story.

Side note: I came away very impressed after seeing them for the first time at the The Icy Tour, but I think this is a band I’ll end up seeing on every other tour moving forward.

 

Would love a return to the Trench sound. They did some really cool shit on that album.

Someone on Reddit said that Tyler described it "as a pendulum that swing from Trench to the happy and poppy SAI, and then it would be swinging back to darker, grittier music." Of course we'll see if that is true.

 

Bit late but I think they clearly made the story up as they went along lol but that video is still pretty damn cool and well done

 

Looks a bit like fan art but that photo is definitely new so I think this is legit. Apparently the single is called “Overcompensate”. Just about 28 hours to go til the world premiere!

After looking at it a few minutes, I really dig it. It actually mirrors the Trench album cover quite a bit - fuzzy black and white photo over a colored background. I don’t like the Clancy text. But doesn’t it kind of look like Blurryface in the flames on the right?

I am so freaking hyped.

 

This album cover is pretty ugly too now that I think about it and I don’t recall many people being that enthused by it either when it first dropped

 

Tracklist and release date are out there! Trench has some of my favorite production on any album in recent memory, especially on Levitate and Jumpsuit. Hope this delves further into that territory!

Well the title Overcompensate is confirmed as real

 

Not sure how the artwork is fake if the title ended up being real, and the photo is new as well and Josh’s outfit matches the new promotional photo too. I don’t think the track list is legit but I’m convinced on the artwork. It’s real, y’all

 

Someone on reddit said the OP of the artwork confirmed it was fake...but who knows. The photo is definitely new and matches the outfits from the Overcompensate preview. Guess we'll see soon enough.
The tracklist still might be fake because Overcompensate was hidden as a clue somewhere so it has been speculated as a song title for a while

Barnes & Noble of all places to leak the title/date is low key hilarious.

 

It’s up on Urban Outfitters too, with the cover art I posted this morning. I’m sure it will be swiftly taken down but it’s legit. The cover art was not fake.
