Finally had a chance to read it, amazing job!
I think one of the first comments sums the album up - ridiculously cathartic. (In the best way)

 

Saw this tour last night and they just looked so happy every time the crowd would start singing. It felt like a real communal experience.

 

By all accounts they’ve been really enjoying this run.

There was that piece a few months ago that alluded to the possibility of something coming at some point. Really hope this tour gives them some energy to go forward with possibly trying to write an album.

 

Great piece, Zac! I love what you said about emo revival's shift of focus from "you" to "us." I remember hearing Christian say on a podcast that the "voice that I found for you" lyric was a misstep, so ending with that observation about the live show was perfect writing

 

today is the actual ten year anniversary

 

Album still means a lot to me. Excited to read your piece later.

Vividly remember when it came out I was living with my gf now wife in an apartment in so cal whilst she was going to school. I was very homesick and my nightly ritual was smoking a bowl and listening to HLNPIT while playing Infamous Second Son. Good times

 

I was already aware and listening to the album before it really clicked when I was in Michigan for a funeral for someone who finally lost their fight with cancer.

 

Incredible that it’s been ten years. I went back and read my review from when it came out. I wish I had been a better writer, but I did accurately predict how important that album would be to me and the emo scene.

Sang along in the car whole way to work. For as heavy as the themes and lyrics are this is an all time sing along in the car album.

Okay, I have to be honest. I have never listened to this album. Changing that now. Will report back.

Wow didn’t realize when I bought tickets that the show tonight fell on the actual anniversary, let’s gooo

 

Okay, yeah this is very good. A lot more diverse than I expected. For some reason I thought it was one of those snotty pop-punk albums. Love the heavier stuff towards the end of the album.

Really regretting skipping the 10 year show

 

Yeah, I'm bummed I slept on getting tickets which would have been for the show tonight

Gonna watch their set from Fest 13 for the hundredth time instead

 

Acoustic hotelier/born without bones show limited to 50 people on Saturday in CLE just got announced : )
