Audiobooks are only good for non-fiction, it just feels like a long podcast. Fiction Audiobooks where it is one dude doing a bunch of voices feels like adult story time, and it is weird.

I've been listening to Manhunt: The 12 day chase for Lincoln's killer. Which is about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and the search for John Wilkes Booth, which is pretty good. It's about to be a Apple TV+ limited series. It's pretty short too, like 8 or 9 hours.

I really loved A Heart That Works by Rob Delaney. Even if you're not familiar with his acting, it's still a heartbreaking story of overcoming grief and loss intercut with humor.

I also loved the audiobook of I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy. Which is just an incredibly blunt deconstruction of child stardom and coming to terms with toxic parents. It almost comes off as a 21st century Mommy's Dearest.

 

I have the bad habit of falling asleep while listening to audiobooks and losing my place

 

I've been trying to learn Spanish with language learning audiobooks and had to stop cause I just don't learn that way. I convinced myself it would be the secret to becoming fluent oop.

 

The entire third season of New Girl feels like the result of a cocaine binge.

 

New Girl is funny sometimes, but wildly overrated

 

I stopped watching after that season 3 finale where they all take the cruise. Loved the show, but the latter half of that season was so wildly unfunny, I moved on to other shows.

 

I forget there was a time where the Deschanel sisters ruled Fox's Primetime lineup

 

New Girl is good

 

I love when people tell me I remind them of Jess from new girl but really they just mean I'm a pale woman with brown hair and bangs who likes cutesy twee fashion and I used to be a teacher. But I don't have big blue eyes or a ragtag group of buddies to have regular hijinks with which would be the best part smh.

 

Good news is that you could probably star in a better show!

 

If only I was as adorkable and quirky as Zooey Deschanel
