Priest feels like a must-lose to me, recent history be damned, but I've never been a big believer in him. Think his ceiling is where he's at and putting the title on him in its current state would drag it down considerably.

Awesome Truth vs. Balor & Priest feels like its happening, but man, I wish there was something better planned for the tag titles. Huge fall from grace after last year. Truth is hilarious and he's earned himself a spot on the card, but I wish it weren't that.

 

Priest really just needs to call his shot in advance and lose admirably

 

I hope the tag belts are split up after Mania

 

At the very least, if they don't, replace those god awful ugly things with a single set of titles.

They've come such a long way in ditching many of the ugly titles from mid '00s and somehow those remain.

 

Yeah I don't know why they didn't bring in new ones a couple months ago. Dropped the ball

 

Who is going to beat Gunther? My answer is "no one".

If they decide to put Gunther in a feud for one of the main titles I would just say just have him forfeit the belt, saying that he is above it and does not need it anymore since he will have a better one very soon.

The momentum this move will give him going into a world title feud would be huge. Then you can do a KOTR for the IC title.

 

Vacating belts to go for a “bigger” belt does nothing but devalue the vacated belt IMO

 

Somebody’s gotta beat Gunther. That’s how it should work.

 

If you do a KOTR for the belt Gunther gives up then you’re just saying those 8 guys aren’t on the same level as Gunther. I know there has to be levels to your booking but if Gable were to win that everyone would just think “oh yeah that guy couldn’t beat Gunther”

 

WON awards are weird:

AEW has 4/5 top shows of the year. 4/5 matches of the year. Best weekly TV show. 3/5 wrestlers, 2/5 tag teams...

You'd think on paper that would be enough to still get the promotion of the year. But I guess its both a mix of intangibles where WWE improving and AEW not living up to its potential makes WWE feel better and more exciting to watch, and also probably some recency bias. idk. the awards don't actually matter I just find it fascinating the disconnect between which brand is deemed to be the best overall individual components and which brand is deemed to be the best overall

 

It’s just an echo chamber and outdated opinions for the most part. I doubt most of their voters actually watch WWE given some of the winners. And they definitely don’t watch Impact.
