Step up from the other guy - glad he’s not in control of the script

 

To be fair, based on the studio’s intent, he’s probably not even in control of directing

 

As much as “director of that very good Godzilla movie does a dinosaur movie” sounds good on paper… I don’t think I believe that “Jurassic World” is a franchise with much potential to be more than the most boring kind of slop.

Idk. Maybe a director with visual style, and a screenwriter with some great (and some not-so-great!) films under his belt, and a new cast, will make it a cool, fresh, fun movie. But, they’re starting in a hole for me expectations-wise, that great trailers and reactions/reviews from people I trust will have to dig ‘em out of.

 

I know he won't have much input on the story itself, but what I think he will be able to have an impact on is the visual style of the film, in being able to get some pretty sick shots, and maybe judging how/when to use CGI

 

He’s definitely a good choice to direct one of these. I hope it’s a good script.
